(A/N: Hey, everyone!
So, you guys demanded a sequel and here it is! I'm so sorry I couldn't get this up sooner, I've been very busy these past couple of months and the only thing I've been able to do on Wattpad is read. I've been thinking about this story for a forever and I couldn't figure out a way to make it so that it was a good beginning for this sequel. The beginning that you guys deserve for your support and love for "When Mythologies Meet". To be quite honest with you, I never thought that particular fanfiction wouldn't have gotten as popular as it is now. So thank you for that.
And with these words, I shall begin a new tale with a companion book that deserves it.
I do not own any of the characters that Rick Riordan has created. Tildes are POV changes.)
The sky was dark, much like Percy's gloomy feelings. Annabeth had been gone for a week now. She had said it was family business and Percy knew he couldn't interfere. Not this time. Not unless the love of his life needed him. He knew she would get in touch with him if she needed him. Annabeth was smart and cunning and clever, she was fine.
Percy sighed and felt someone sit down next to him.
"Still no word from Annabeth?" Jason asked him. Annabeth. His heart fluttered at the sound of her name and his stomach churned with anxiety when he heard one of his best friends say it.
"No," Percy sighed and ran his hands over his face and halfheartedly through his messy black hair. "Gods, how did Annabeth do this for eight months? I was gone for eight months, Jason. How did she do it? I can barely stand just a couple of weeks without her and I'm losing my mind with worry."
Jason sighed too. "I don't know, Percy, to be quite honest with you. I'm sure she is alright though. Annabeth is a smart woman, she'll contact you or any of us if she needs us."
Percy nodded his head and the conversation died. Jason knew that Percy loved Annabeth, and she him. He knew how hard long distance relationships were; he was having one with Piper McLean. Annabeth's absence had taken a toll on Percy. He still ate, but it was halfhearted. He still was active; Jason knew thoughts of Annabeth plagued his mind day and night. The Hypnos Cabin had helped Percy sleep better, and that was doing him some good. Percy was still pretty much healthy. But the light in his eyes was dulled and numbed and the bounce in his step wasn't so bouncy anymore. Not since Annabeth was gone. It started on Day Six of her absence, she didn't contact anyone, not even Chiron. That's when Percy began to worry. Annabeth was never one to miss out on checkups. She was supposed to every six days, to make sure that she was safe to the camp. It was for Percy's reassurance mostly.
"You heard what I just said on repeat, I know that. I also know that Annabeth loves you dearly and that you love her just as much. You and her survived two wars, Tartarus, and a million other adventures. You can survive this, you can do this. You will see her again, I know it. The Fates haven't been kind but mostly cruel to you for all these years to just throw it all away. You know and I know that there is hope." Jason said, trying desperately that Percy would gain some hope from his words.
Percy turned to him and smiled. "Thank you, Jason."
"You're welcome, Percy."
"I'll try."
Jason clapped Percy on the back. Percy chuckled and Jason joined him.
"Wanna go for a swim, Praetor?" Percy asked.
Jason looked up at the clouds and looked at Percy skeptically, "If we get electrocuted in the water, I'm not rescuing you."
"Oh, please. Water's my element. I'm perfectly safe there; besides, if you electrocuted, it won't hurt you, Jupiter's Son."
