Waking up soundlessly, I examined the room before moving. No one seemed to accompany me, so I sat up. I couldn't see anything due to the dark room, but I could sense no movement. I tried to move my legs, and threw them on the floor so I could walk. My leg was there?

I looked down at my leg and smiled. How did it come back? Where was North? I walked out of the room and was quickly pinned to the wall.

"What do you want?" I said, groaning.

"I need you," he said, and I looked up.

"North?" I said in surprise. "What are you doing?" I tried to whisper.

"I need you, Nova," he said, and I pushed his arms off my shoulder.

"My name is Curtis," I said. "And I need an explanation."

"Nova," he said. "You don't need to keep secrets from me. If anything, I want to protect your identity. But listen please, there is a force on Earth I cannot hope to conquer by myself. I need you."

"There are plenty of others," I said, trying to walk away. "Why me?"

"You're strong," he said. "You will aid Felix."

"No," I said. "You can call me a woman's name, but you cannot set me up with that angry warthog."

He chuckled mysteriously. "Oh Nova," he said. "I can do whatever I want, and besides, you don't want your little secret told to the others, do you?"

"No," I said, realizing I had admitted to having the name Nova, which I did. "But why, North?"

"I need power," he said. "Everyone else in this building has something. He stroked my cheek. "You have beauty," I slapped his hand and backed away. "Felix has anger, which can serve for great battling, Brutus has strength, Horace has skill with time, everyone has something, except me."

"How will this gain you power?" I asked.

"That is none of your concern," he said. "Tell Felix I have moved the deadline, you go tomorrow." With that, he walked away.

I tried to follow him, but he snapped his fingers and a wall came between us. Groaning, I sat down and waited for a plan to come to me. Felix won't listen to me, North is psycho, and if I tell anyone anything North would get me killed. I pondered, leaning on the wall. What would Felix do? Probably smash something on North's head. That would work... What would North do? Most likely nothing since he would ruin his hair.

Who could I tell? Who would help me? Obviously, Ace would be no help. I've never talked to Brutus, but he seems like he would be on Ace's side. Maybe Ace was kidding? Maybe he didn't really want me to do anything and it was a test?

I got up and turned around, going the other way to the meeting room.
