I woke up the next morning, wondering how the hell i'm going to get back to my regular routine after all what Blake told me.I don't feel safe anymore. Now I have to worry about were-cats and were-wolves... wow I sound like a crazy person.I got out of my bed and did my daily routine. I opened my bedroom door to a smirking Clay.
"What do you want Clay?" I said rolling my eyes.
"Oh you know just wondering who that boy was with my baby sister last night?"He said raising an eyebrow.
I let out a huge sigh and attempted to push him out of the way but he wouldn't budge. I crossed my arms, copying him stance. "Why do you care anyway? It's not like you ever care what I do with my life any other time unless it's to annoy me."I said giving him the death glare.
He just grinned." Well it seems like a juicy story. My sister coming home at dark with a guy standing next to her." He gave a triumphant look like he had just won the argument.
"Just forget it happened or i'll tell mom about that time you drank the alcohol in the cabinet, pissed on the carpet , then blamed it on the dog." I mocked his expression.
Clay nodded approvingly and and gestured for me to leave the room. Yes point Jamie! I went down into the kitchen.
"Good morning Jamie!" My mom said smiling. "Mom your back from your trip!" I ran over hugging her. She hugged me back laughing. "I was only gone for a couple of days."
With everything that was going on it felt like ages since I saw her. "So how did it go?" I asked her.
"It went awesome! They loved my presentation so I might get a promotion!" She said grinning from eye to eye. My smile fell.
If my mom got a promotion that meant that she would be here even less then she already was. It was hard in the house with only me and Clay. We didn't have my dad because my parents had a divorce when I was 7. We still saw him but only every other weekend.
"Jamie? You Okay?" I looked at my mom realizing I had zoned out. "Oh sorry its just that if you get the promotion wont you be gone more?" I told her.
"Yes... but Jamie this means we have more money for your college and other things." she said attempting to cheer me up. "It just I miss you a lot and i need my mom sometimes." I said frowning.
"I know Jamie i'm sorry," Her head fell. " I miss you guys too but I- we need this promotion. We don't make enough money. You father gives us child support but it still isn't enough. If I don't get this promotion we will have to move into an apartment and we just moved here last year." my mom was trying to reason with me.
I sighed giving up and covering my frown with a smile. "I'm proud of you mom you deserve it." She smiled back at me. "Well I have to go back to the office today so i will see you tonight." she kissed my head before heading out the door.
I was sitting at the table in the kitchen before I realized "Oh shit" I said out loud. I wrecked Grace's car Crap, crap, crap! What was I going to do? My mom cant pay for it for obvious reasons.I hope Grace is an understanding person because this is going to be a hell of a day if I don't figure out something.
I grabbed my backpack leaving my skateboard. I don't think ill be using it in the mornings anymore. When I got outside Grace's car was sitting in my driveway. Not a scratch on it.
"What?!" I said walking up to the car and examining it."No way." I muttered to myself. I opened the door just to make sure it was real.
There was a note on the seat. I picked it up and read it.
