It was our English time when our class had our story telling. I wasn't prepared of what story I will share to the class. I couldn't stop getting nervous and I bit my tongue.
"Ouch!" I exclaimed.
"What happened to you?" my seatmate, Nika asked.
"Uhm. Do you have already your story?" I asked.
She nodded. After a minute, our teacher called my name and I was shocked.
"Oh my gosh.." I whispered.
What should I do? I don't have my story yet and now it's my time to recite? Oh no!
"Ms. Serrano? Do you have something to share?" Ms. Lapid ask.
I stood up and felt the nervousness all over my body. I went in front and started my story.
"Actually, my story is kinda weird to all of you but I really experienced this. So the story goes like this..
-FLASHBACK-
"Hi grandma!"
My brother, sister and I greeted grandma and hugged her. We arrived late in the afternoon. We put our bags in the bed room and went to the dining room to have a snacks.
After that, we went to the cemetery to visit our cousin who died on his birthday. Honestly, I had no idea about his death. I wasn't inform on that day and I just knew about it on the day of his burial.
We lighted a candle and prayed for his soul. Then we went home after.
Night came and we were all enjoying. We were busy chit-chatting and laughing. Until all of us were sleeping.
It was 3am in the morning. I was awaken when my grandma stood up and went to the cr. I heard my tita who was living on grandma's house, talking something to grandma. I ignored and not just a minute, grandma was back from bed.
I slept again. Few minutes had passed. I was awaken again. I felt something was holding my feet. I was thinking that it was my little cousin, the son of our tita. But what does a kid like him doing on this time?
I tried to pull my feet but the hold was getting tight and cold. I felt goosebumps already. My sweat was falling rushly on my back and face. I wanted to wake my sister and brother who was sleeping on bothsides but I was afraid that if I ever did, it will just frightened me more. I was about to shout but then I realized that the whole thing was gone.
I sighed and kept myself calm. I moved my feet, trying to make sure that it was gone. And it was really gone. I closed my eyes and hoping that it won't happen again.
