Draco fell to his knees. Tears were threatening and a severe bout of hopelessness enveloped him. There was a depressed silence and Harry fell from Hagrid's bulky arms. Harry stood shakily. A bewildered expression adorned Voldemort's pale and noseless face. Harry's balance faltered and he staggered to the left a few steps. Voldemort sneered and seized the sudden moment of vulnerability.
Avada Kedavra
A flash of green light left Voldemort's wand and the world seemed to hold it's breath.
Draco's world stopped. His cowardice falling away and desperation replaced it, he flung himself in front of Harry at an alarming speed.
He stared at Harry in his last moments. Tired silver eyes meeting sad green eyes.
Draco jolted forward as the curse hit him in the back, he fell forward onto his knees. Harry reacted immediately, also dropping to his knees and holding the lifeless, pale body.
Harry was only spared one last glance into those silver eyes before a scream erupted, followed by hoarse sobs. Neither came from Harry but his mother and father.
Harry remained on his knees, staring at the boy in his arms. Nobody came near. Harry couldn't hear what was happening around him, he was in a whole other world. All alone, with two bodies.
Eventually, Harry returned to his feet. He still held Draco in his arms, the latters head lolling back unnaturally.
He staggered to a nearby wall and leant Draco against it. Tears brimming and breathing heavily through his teeth, Harry turned to face the Dark Lord.
An evil grin split on his face.
"Ready to fight now, Potter?"
Harry took several intimidating steps forward followed by many stunning spells.
Stupefy
Stupefy
Harry's anger caught Voldemort unaware. Voldemort was laying near a broken wall, a cloud of thick dust settling on his robes.
Going to kill me, Harry
Harry shuddered, Parseltongue made him feel uneasy.
Crucio
Harry writhed on the ground. The pain was almost unbearable and a terrible laughter filled his ears.
"It's your fault Malfoy is dead."
"You led the boy to his death."
"You killed him."
Harry gritted his teeth and dragged himself up. His eyes blurry with tears, the saltiness of them stinging his cut cheeks.
A single choked sob escaped his dry mouth.
Avada Kedavra
The pair fell. People crowded one but the other was isolated and another had no recognition of his death.
Draco was crowded, his mother sobbing uncontrollably over his body, his father leaning against the wall next to him, his classmates mourning.
Harry was isolated, in the death of Draco he seemed to be forgotten about, he lay on the dusty and cold ground staring at the cloudy sky, almost in a daze.
Voldemort's death had barely been recognised, nobody shed a tear, nobody mourned, nobody spared a thought for Tom Riddle.
