I literally jumped out of the bed, early in the morning, almost spraining my spine. I yawned and smacked the alarm clock to shut it.

I smiled looking outside the window, the sun is not shining bright yet, the sky is still a purplish colour mixed with a bit of orange.

It took me approximately ten minutes to put on my clothes, I'm not exactly a morning person. Wait, scratch that, I'm not a morning person at all.

I groaned when my big toe hit the dresser quite harshly, I'm trying my best to be quiet.

I suddenly remember about the sandwich and opened my backpack to see the sandwich is still there. Hey, maybe Dusty ate it, you know. I breathed out in relief when the sandwich hadn't turn moldy yet.

I took the container with me and tip toed downstairs and avoiding every cracks on the stairs. I've memorized almost every crack in this house out of boredom. I made it to the kitchen safely and smiled to myself, the coast is clear, Aunt Gloria isn't awake yet.

I practically shoved the whole container in the microwave and set the timer. I tapped my foot impatiently on the tiled floor of the kitchen. Jeez, this kitchen sure does smell. I hit the stop button before the microwave has the chance to beep. Hey, I'm just being cautious okay?

I ran upstairs to my room as quitely as I could and double check everything that was in my backpack.

Clothes, checked.

Food, checked.

Plane tickets, checked.

Phone charger, checked.

Passport, checked.

Phone-

Oh my god where is my phone. I frantically scearched around my room, almost yelling in frustration when I couldn't find it. I spot my phone on my bedside table and my face flushed in embarassment, God I'm so stupid. I shake my head at myself and went to grab my phone and stuff it in my jeans pocket.

I checked the clock on my wall. 5:40 AM. Good they'll be awake soon so I better get to Luke's house.

Before exiting my room, I shot Luke a text that I'm coming over before putting my phone back in my pocket again. I put on my heavy backback and huffed before twisting the door knob and walk to the quiet halls.

I froze in my tracks. I'm pretty sure I heard footsteps. And I made the most stupid desicion, I dashed towards the door but stopped again at the force of someone gripping my flannel. I gulped, not daring to turn around.

"Daisy?!"

Oh shoot, it's Ruby. I sighed and forced my body to turn around. Ruby is still in her pyjamas, her dark hair messy and eyes sleepy with a confused look on her face. "Where are you going?"

I should've known she would ask this, my hands felt wet and clammy, what I going to answer?! Because telling her the truth would totally not work.

She narrowed her eyes at me. "Are you leaving home?"

I managed to shake my head. "N-no, you're crazy!"

Ruby rubbed her eyes and yawned, "I'm going to tell Aunt Gloria," She declared and stomp upstairs.

My heart is hammering against my chest loudly I'm surprise the neighbours can't hear it. I wiped the sweat that's forming on my forehead and reached out blindly for the door knob. I turned the door knob and swing the door wide open before making a run for it.

I can hear Ruby's loud voice shouting at Aunt Gloria telling her that I've escaped. I breathed heavily and relief flooded over me when I saw Luke's car already on, waiting for me outside his house, I ran faster, I'm almost there, I can hear Ruby's slippers hitting the pavement loudly, chasing after me.
