She was advancing on her tiptoes, hardly touching the hard and muddy ground.

Wavering, she stopped next to the bed and listened to the regular breathings that rose from the pallet. A tear ran down her cheek, then a second one, then plenty of them.

She turned away and left the small house made of straw and dried clay as fast as she could without making any noise.

The first glows of daylight lit the sky of pinky and golden hues above the small and lost village. A sweet smell was making it's way to her nose and the birds were singing as they were doing every morning.

- "Nice day to die" thought the young lady.

She tightened the ties made of reed that maintained the thin fabric covering her skinny body, then she went to the forrest that extended to the east.

She walked randomly, without knowing what she should search for. Every branch that broke under her feet made her blench. Fear was growing fast inside of her, surpassing her sorrow of being far from the ones that she loved. Further, she saw herbivores regaled themselves with leaves. They were so peaceful, she didn't want to disturb...

- "The creature's not here" noted the young lady, turning to the south.

She walked for hours, torn between her determination and her wish to go back to her village to hug her protective and loving mother. A bough caught her hair, snatching a shout from her. It took her a few minutes to free her blond lock of hair. When she finally succeeded, she carried on her path, fear building in her heart. The despair was slowly taking over her because she knew the night was about to come. And with the night, the horror approached quickly. She tried to give herself some courage, tightening her grip on the stone she was holding. ItIt was a sharp stone that she had brought. hoping it would protect her from the devil.

Suddenly, she noticed that the usual noises of the forrest were gone. Everything was quiet. She couldn't hear any animals. Only the light breeze of the wind was breaking the heavy silence of the cursed place. Her goal was not far away from her. She could feel it.

Indeed, she was arriving in a glade with the wrecks of what had been a fire. It was still warm and fuming. Some pieces of fur were laid on a bed made of grass and straw. It was the only clues that a creature was hiding there. The girl felt her heart skip a beat, the creature couldn't be far. She was about to begin her exploration when she felt a warm breath on the back of her neck. She froze, a shiver made it's way down her spine. Panic was overwhelming her.

- "So you got lost, did you ?" whispered a deep voice on her ear as she closed her eyes and tried to repress her shivers. Shivers that provoked contractions. Contractions made her move her hands, making her remember that the stone was still there.

She could almost feel the skin of the creature against hers so such the space separating them was tight. He turned slowly around her, glaring at her and remembering every detail. It was the first time he was so close of a living human being. She appeared to him as if she was extremely fragile, her skin drenched with a mix of humidity and sweat. He examined her face, her lips pinched to not scream or cry. He would have liked to see her eyes but she maintained them firmly closed, completely terrified.

- "What is a human doing here ?"

Suddenly, she opened her eyes, revealing her grey orbes. And at the same time, she lifted her right arm to stab the beast with her stone. He nimbly caught her arm and tightened his grip on it, making her scream. She backed up, struggling, hanging her tunic in a bush. She dropped her weapon and kneeled. He placed his other hand to her neck, laughing.

- " Did you really think you could kill me with that ?" He appointed the stone with his chin. " I should rip your head off with it. It was probably what you wanted to do."
