: Macey's POV :

I grinned couldn't help but giggle as Dillion shouted ''I've lost my balls!'' while rummaging through bushes trying to find his two footballs which he had, somehow, kicked into the same bush. I watched him tear through the branches, soon throwing out a stereotypical black and white football before swiftly turning to try and fish out the other. Gripping my pencil, I sat down upon the emerald hill, allowing my knees to fold up to my chest before positioning my sketchbook upon my lap. I allowed my hand to control the pencil, making it glide across the page, starting off with simple shapes, circles mainly. Then I started to draw in the fangs, the delicate yet terrifying lips...Though, soon enough I was rudely interrupted by the thump of a neon orange football landing a few inches away from my right hand side, Dillion soon followed, charging up the hill with the other ball and seemed to half tackle me, exclaiming ''I found my balls!'' which caused me to giggle, everyone says I have a dirty mind, I like to think I have a sexy imagination instead! Dillion has been my best and one of my only friends for as long as I can remember, most teased and mocked me for having different coloured eyes...One brown and one blue..Dillion taught me to embrace my quirks, he's honestly like an older brother to me and i'm a younger sister to him (seriously, the 'friendzone' isn't that bad). Dillion ruffled my hair before whipping out his phone to check the time ''Ah crap, I have to go, i'll see ya later Mace!'' he stuck out his tongue before jumping up, gathering his balls and walking away, I watched him for as long as I could before he disappeared into the distance.

As I sat alone, I felt..Connected to the world, my fingers running through the blades of grass, the wind caressing my face and the setting sun seeming to comfort me with her motherly warmth.  I felt at peace...Eventually I stood up, gathered my sketch book, camera, backpack and pencils before heading back to the University campus, oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that, didn't I? You barely know anything about me...Well, my name is Macey Elizabeth White, i'm a 21 year old woman currently working towards getting a degree in art and then furthering to get a degree in teaching, I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, I did live with my mother, father and younger brother though moved once I was accepted into the University, it's pretty sweet having independence (and some peace and quiet!), the only thing that bothers me is work..I had to get a job at the local Cafe, It's called Giraffe..Which is a strange name but it definitely gets people's attention!

Soon enough I notice that I've reached the campus entrance, pushing open the gate I step inside before walking across the concrete to the building door, I have to go up three flights of stairs to get to my floor, I trailed down the corridor, smiling at passers by before taking my key from my pocket, placing it in the lock, twisting and unlocking the door before stepping inside. I dumped my stuff on my desk chair before turning round only to pause...There was an envelope on the mat in front of my door, but no one but Dillion ever spoke to me and we had literally just hung out..Confused I moved towards the mat, crouched down and picked up the envelope. It was a yellow-y white with a red wax seal with a capital M stamped on it. 'It seems quite old fashioned and classy..Definitely not someone from here then..' I thought with a slight chuckle, I slid my thumb nail under the seal before slowly flipping open the envelope I pulled out a sheet of neatly folded paper of the same pigment, I unfolded it to have my eyes greeted with the most beautiful flowing writing, I loved the curving shapes and how they just flowed into one another. However my attention was quickly drawn to the words, it read;

'To my dearest Macey,

I understand that what I am about to tell you may disturb and even frighten you, however, I assure you that you must not be fearful. You have caught my eye, Miss White, for you remind me of someone I knew long ago, someone who doubted herself, who feared she would never amount to anything. Trust me when I say, you are much..Much more than you may think sweetheart. Don't be afraid of your quirks or things you may class as strange, things that people mock you for, for you are a bright, rare gem hidden among dull, generic stones,

Best regards,

E.M.'

I stared. I knew no one who had the initials E.M..I knew nothing of this person yet they knew so much about me..I heart a slight rattle at my window and jumped, spinning around, yet all I saw was darkness and the slight tremor of the cherry tree's branch by my window...I slowly walked over to the window and looked out into the dark void. E.M, huh? I suppose my private investigation begins...
