~Violet's POV~
*3 days later
I open my bedroom door and walk in, very tired from the training session. I close the door behind me and walk over to my bed and plop down on top of it. I was done for the day and I had nothing else to do. North told me that I could have the day off tomorrow so that I could recuperate from the intense training that he's put me through for the past three days. Once he told me that, the only thing that I could think of was sleep, lots of sleep. And that's what I'm about to do. I slowly close my eyes, ready to get swept away by the sweet embrace of slumber.
But that did not happen...
I shot up into a sitting position when I felt a cold hand rest on my shoulder. I whip my head around to see a laughing Jack, floating a few inches above my bed.
"Damn it, Jack. I almost got to take a nap," I said as I pulled him down onto the bed. Then something came to me, "Wait, how did you get in here?"
"I have my ways," Jack smirked, "and you didn't close your door all the way." I playfully punched his arm. He punched back and we both giggled a little. "Well, seeing as though you were about to sleep, I'm guessing you forgot about what I told you this morning."
I was puzzled for a moment. I wracked my brain for any recollection of what he told me this morning. And….nothing.
“Well, you guessed right. Actually, I can’t remember anything before my training session. North made me do some vigorous physical training today so that I can build some muscle.” I flexed my right arm to show him how much muscle I have, which isn’t much at all.
Jack chuckled as he observed my arm. “Well, it’s an improvement.” Then he placed a hand on my arm and lowered my arm down. “Anyways, about what I told you this morning, well, since you don’t remember, then it’ll be a surprise.”
“Well, okay. So, whatever this ‘surprise’ is, is it going to happen now or later?” Jack smirked and wrapped his arm around my waist.
“Right now,” and before I had the chance to object (not that I would’ve), we were in the air several hundred feet above the workshop and off to only-Jack-knows-where.
“You do remember that I can fly on my own, right?” I asked him.
“Yeah, but it’s more romantic this way,” he replied smiling down at me with his perfectly white teeth. I smiled back at him at the thought of him being romantic for me. I think that’s really sweet of him.
--
After about 10 minutes of nothing but ice and snow, we finally came over a forest covered in snow. Jack landed in a clearing and took something out of his jacket pocket and hid it behind his back.
“Okay, I need you to turn around,” Jack said with a soft smile. I did as he told me to. I felt his freezing body temperature behind me and I was waiting for him to do whatever it was he wanted to do. “Don’t move or anything. I’m just gonna blind fold you.”
“Oh, uh, okay,” I said standing as still as I possibly could. I saw the blind fold come from over my head and then come closer and closer to my face. Then there was nothing but darkness and I couldn’t see anything pass the cloth.
