It was when the first years were in Botany when they heard the scream again. This time it was louder and deeper sounding.
Just before the interruption, they had been tending to the LIVE plants. And by live, they were literally alive AND ANIMATE!
The noise had disrupted the plants. The plants did not like to be disrupted.
Soon, the plants were hissing, their curling tendrils looping around and around Lustria. Her small seven year old mind could bear it no more and she joined in with the screaming. Lustria could REALLY scream. The entire class of first years had to close their ears to try to block out the sound. Even the teacher, who was very tolerant, had to cover his ears.
Finally, Aevum could bear it no more and she performed a spell that she had learned by reading separately in Botany: Safety.
"Obsecro damnum herba, desine quaeso vocem, silentio silentio!"
Lustria panted heavily, glad to be rid of the plant who she thought was giving her a hug.
