Later that day, Fawn and Artemis arrived at the football game. They ending up deciding to go, but tried to avoid Lacey at all cost. Fawn walked up the bleachers motioning Artemis to follow her to the top of the steps furthest away from the cheerleaders and preppy girls who would only annoy them the whole time.
"Artemis, right?" A voice spoke up from behind the bleachers. Artemis paused stepping back down and turned the corner seeing a figure under the bleachers near the front. The regular burnouts were further behind him and didn't seem to be paying much attention.
"Yes?" Artemis asked stepping closer to the hidden male. He grinned a bit from the darkness of the bleachers and came into the light provided by the scoreboard. He had long blonde hair that went down to his shoulders. His blue eyes sparkled in the sunset.
"I'm River. I've seen you around school, never actually go to introduce myself." River smiled sticking out his hand.
"Well you already know who I am," Artemis smirked taking his hand. River chuckled lightly and nodded.
"So, wanna grab some popcorn from the concession stand? I know, I know, pretty cheesy, but I don't think you'd rather hang out with them." River tilted his head motioning to the burnouts under the bleachers.
"Popcorn would be great," Artemis smiled at him, but glanced up to the top of the bleachers. River nodded and turned shoving his hands into his jean pockets walking to the crowded concession stand. Artemis glanced back to River, and followed him.
"Were you looking for someone?" River looked back to her.
"Oh, just my friend, she was with me, but she will be fine." Artemis chuckled picking up her pace to walk side by side with him.
"I was scared you were looking for your boyfriend or something, I'm surprised he isn't here with you." River took a deep breath moving the blonde hair out of his face.
"I don't have one?" Artemis snickered folding her arms over her chest.
"Really? Miss Artemis Taylor doesn't have a boyfriend?" he laughed as they approached the concession stand.
"Nope, nope. But what about you, Mr. River Phoenix?" She shot back with a smile.
"Hell no." He snorted buying the biggest bag of popcorn they had.
"Can you eat that much popcorn in one sitting?" Artemis joked playfully slapping him on the shoulder.
"Wanna bet?" River grinned shoving a handful in his mouth.
"Ten dollars you can't eat all of it by the end of this game." She smirked, then grabbed a hand full and shoved it in her mouth.
"You're on like Donkey Kong." He sat toward the bottom of the bleachers and quickly began shoving handfuls of popcorn in his mouth. Artemis snickered watching him. She sat beside him turning her attention to the game, considering they were up by 9 points. "I'm guessing you're into sports?" River asked as he took a small break from eating.
"I guess you could say that." She smiled as she looked at him. Artemis looked to the side seeing Fawn standing by Lacey and a man dressed in a football uniform, who appeared to be talking to her.
