Ivory’s POV
_
I walked over to a shaking body, lying on the floor of a cold and empty room.
“H-He’s here…” their voice was groggy, seeming like they just woke up, soon followed by a throaty and dry laugh.
“Who’s here..?” I murmured, walking over to the boy that was soon sitting in the corner of the room in a blink of an eye.
His face was blurred, yet that couldn’t hide the pain I knew he was feeling. He held a piece of glass to his arm as he soon began to carve into his skin, tears that I couldn’t see fell onto his bare, pale chest and the laugh soon echoed through the room again.
“W-Why do you do this?” I asked him, mindlessly kneeling down in front of him as the blurred face soon met mine.
“He makes me…” He whispered as the lights went out and I heard a blood curdling scream.
It was my scream.

“God…” I murmured as I sat up in bed, sweat drenching the pillow. Nightmares weren’t things that happened often, yet once I stepped into this new house, in the town of HavenCreek, that all changed. I didn’t feel safe at all.
“Come on hun, we have to go get you registered for school. Get dressed.” My dad peaked into the room as I let out a small groan, snuggling more into the comforter.
I pushed my weak body up, kicking the warm duvet off of my legs as I pulled myself from the bed. Stepping under the warm water I let out a content sigh, letting my mind get lost in its thoughts.
I had moved in with my dad after he and my mom had filed a divorce about a month ago. Moving here was a bust really, this town… this house just gives me bad feelings. I can’t even take a shower without thinking that someone is watching me. My thoughts were interrupted when the lights had gone out; I gasped and turned off the water, standing still.
“Dad..?” I called out and clutched at the shower curtains, my face popping out into the dark restroom. I continued to call out for him. The room when silent knowing he couldn’t hear me, just then I felt a stinging sensation ride up my leg as I cried out in pain. The lights went back on as I fought back to call out for him, the grip I kept on the curtains remained. I jumped when I felt the water hit my bare skin once again; I didn’t turn it back on though.
I slipped out of the shower once I turned off the water, holding at the towel that was around me as I closed my eyes, leaning back against the wall. Deep breathes Ivory, deep breathes. Everything is fine, nothing is going on. Calm down. I thought to myself as I opened my eyes, taking in a deep breath. My breathing hitched in my throat once my gaze landed on the mirror, it was covered in… handprints, some even smeared. Walking over I raised my shaking hand to compare the sizes, the hand was massive against mine. I pressed it to another print seeing that this one wasn’t as large as the other.
“Ivory, you ready or not?” my dad knocked on my bedroom door which made me move away from the mirror and step out of the restroom.
Quickly digging through the boxes of clothes I was supposed to unpack last night, I pulled out a simple change of clothes and throwing it on. Standing in front of the mirror I examined what I wore; faded black leggings, an old t-shirt that belonged to an old boyfriend of mine, and white, worn out vans. I tapped my heels together and sighed. I headed down the stairs and out of the house, thinking about the handprints on the mirror.

I sat outside of the principal’s office and looked through the window to see my dad signing the papers. Standing up I walked outside, looking around the abounded halls. This place gave me the creeps.
