Chapter 4 - Realisation

My heart stopped beating at the sight infront me.
I rush towards her and examine her foot while saying "what did you do? You should 've been more careful! How can you not see the glass?! See how much blood is coming out?!!"

I looked at her wound which is pretty hard to see since there is so much blood. I take out my handkerchief and tie it around her foot. Just as I tied the knot I heard her hissing in pain. I looked up and my heart clenched at the sight.

She is starting at me, while tears are streaming down her face. Just like HER. Her eyes are red and grey just as HER.

"Shehzad beta, I'll start the car just hurry pick her up" uncle shakes my shoulder braking my trance.

"No! I will walk!" Alyza says in a painful voice and tries to stand up. I move back to giver her space.

Just as she stands up, she stumbles and was about the fall when I run and caught her. Stubborn girl!
I pick her up in my arms, and realisation hit me. It's like a storm which is creating hovac inside me! With numb body I take her to the car and make her sit at the back and quickly jump in the driving seat.

How can I be so stupid! I should've trusted my instincts first time. Damn it!!! I try my best to focus on the roads infront me and not look back at her through the review mirror.
I Quickly Park the car as we arrive at the nearest hospital.

I pick her up again but this time she is unconscious which makes me panic. I run in.
"Nurse! Doctor! Stretcher please! Hurry!" I yell at them to hurry. My life is in my hands.

I lay her down on the stretcher and we all run towards a room, doctors push me out and take her in.
I walk backwards and fall on the chair. 7 years!

"Shehzad she will be alright. She is strong fighter". Uncle comes to me and pats my shoulder.
I stand up and hug him. He pats my back while I cry on his shoulder.

"I'm so stupid. So dumb! I didn't recognise her first! Who can't recognise his wife!" I sob on his shoulder and curse my self!

Uncle pulls back and wipe my tears "it's never to late son! It's not your fault! She is changed a lot. It's ok. Good thing is you know her now right. It's time to fix the wrong and mend the broken".

"So you knew about me and her? I mean you knew who I am the whole time?" I ask confused and shocked. Ho did he know?

"Yes, I did. I was there when your surgery took place. I was their the whole time. I have been their for you both and realised how much you guys need each other. It's your turn now Shehzad to tell her everything and end both of your misery!" Uncle says the last part sternly.

I nod my head and sit back on chairs with my head between my hands.

I look up to the OT light which is still on. It's been 3 hours. Suddenly the light goes off and I jump up from my chair.

"Doctor who is she!?" I almost scream at him when he sighs and looks behind me. He walks past me to uncle.

"She has lost a lot of blood. We did manage to get the blood but.." He suddenly stops and I grab his collar.
