The Bad Boy With a Secret

Chapter one: The Fairies

P.O.V. Lucy

I got up... it's quiet in the house. I get dressed... it's still so quiet. I've never liked it to be so quiet, but what do you expect from a girl that lives in a big house alone? The last time I saw my father my hair was a lot shorter. He'll come by sometimes, but I'm at school. He leaves me notes when he does though, tells me how much he loves me and all that. Whatever... right? If he doesn't want to know me I don't care, do I? No... no I don't. I could care less.

I walk to school and run into my best friend rounding the corner. She sees me and runs to me.

"Lucy!!!!"

My best friend Levy calls out as she runs to me. It makes me smile, after all this time she's the only one who gets me to smile. We've been friends for a long time, she even knew my mother. She's the only friend I still have from those days. My mother died when I was young and ever since then my father just works. He could care less about me.

"Hey Levy! What's up?"

"Nothing, but walking to school. Come on, let's go."

We giggle at each other and start walking. It's almost the end of the school year, I'm so happy about that. Levy will practically live at my house and it's great. She knows how to cheer me up when I'm down, she's the only one.

After a while we get to class and sit in our seats. We talk for a bit and then the announcements start. The only thing I'm able to hear is:

"School we are happy to say the school band The Fairies have won once again!!!!"

The whole class explodes in screaming and yelling. By the time it's over so are the announcements. So what ever else he said no one has a clue. A while after the class starts, the door opens. Everyone but me looks up from their work. I don't have to look up to know who it is. That boy is late to class everyday, and the teachers love him, the girls love him and everyone loves him. I can't see how anyone with a brain could love that pink haired nome skull. Though lucky me he sits in the empty seat beside me. Yay... and if you couldn't tell that was sarcasm. I can't stand him, he's just so... so... ug!!!! I can't even think of the right words! I just don't see it, let's say that.

I hear him clear his voice and I look up at him.

"What do you want?"

I say coldly. He smirks.... SMIRKS!! Ooh he makes me so mad!!! He just expects all the girls to fall for him.

"Calm down, I just wanted to use a pin."

"Wow late and unprepared, I hope this isn't like you dating."

Levy laughs as I hand him a pin and go back to my work. He looks shocked and takes it, and all the other girls just glare at me. I'm used to the looks though. Natsu is the only person, besides Levy, I can talk to without being scared. Though for different reasons. I can't stand him or his band The Fairies. The name made me think of my mom, and he knew that. We used to be best friends, me and everyone in that stupid band. When my mom died everything changed u shut people out and tried to keep them. Then they changed their bands name to The Fairies and I couldn't take it. I cut them out too, but that was so long ago I don't think any of them remember.

Back then I wasn't quiet or shy, they made shire of that. I was so happy. Then my mom and dad started to fight, and the stress made her sick. I couldn't bare to see my mom like that, but my dad could. It wasn't until she died that it hit him. It never hit him like it him me, I didn't talk for a long time and he didn't notice. How could he, he's never there. Levy got me to open back up a little and talk to her again. She's also how I met Gray.

The bell rings for launch and we turn in our work, take our stuff, and leave.
