While all things seem to fade

The sun will never heal the rain

WARNING: FEELS

When they arrived at the station, Signe could only watch Sean being forcefully pushed into the building while she walked in with no problems. Two policemen stood next to a judge, and they stood up when they came in.

"This Sean McLoughlin?" The judge asked.

"Yes it is." Signe said.

"And who are you?"

"I'm his girlfriend." She said.

The judge only nodded. "Well..your boyfriend has murdered more than half a dozen innocent people the last few days. So that being said..he must be punished for his doings." They looked at the officers. "You know what that means..so go do it."

Slamming their hammer, they were lead to a long hallway, prisoners lined up on either side of them, leaning against the cell bars as they watched the group walk by. Signe tried to keep her eyes straight ahead, but she glanced at a few of them, only to see the prisoners glaring. Moving on, they came to a room that had the word that everyone feared here.

Execution room.

"No..no no no!" Signe exclaimed. "Please don't do this!"

"We have no choice ma'am." One officer said. "This must be stopped altogether."

"Give him a chance please!"

"Signe.." Sean said, looking back at her with sad eyes. "Don't make this harder than it already is..."

"But it wasn't you, Sean!! You know this!! I don't want you to die!!"

"Ma'am, I'm going to ask you again to stay out of this. I know what you're trying to do, but he must pay for what he has done." An officer said in a serious tone.

"At least let me talk to him..just for a minute..please." Signe said, the tears still not stopping.

The officers looked at each other. "Alright..just for one minute. That's all you got."

She nodded, and they walked away for a minute after letting Sean out of his handcuffs, but not too far. As soon as they did, she broke down, crying her eyes out as Sean hugged her tightly.

"I don't want it to be like this..it's not fair!" She said.

"I know, Signe. I know." Sean said, also crying with her. "But it's something I have to pay for. To get him to stop doing this."

"Why does it have to be this way, though?" She asked, pulling back long enough just to look at him. "I don't wanna be alone..."

Sean smiled sadly at her, running a hand through her hair. "I don't want it to be this way, either...and no I don't want you to be lonely. Find someone that will make you happy. I know you will."

Signe shook her head. "Nobody will make me as happy as you have, Sean."

He lightly chuckled. "I can say the same for you too."

Leaning in, she kissed him on the lips as if it'll be the last time, because it will be. Hearing footsteps behind them, the officers came back as they broke apart, Signe watching him get pushed into the execution room, and she followed them inside, hearing the door shut behind them. A brown chair sat in the middle of the room, wires connected everywhere on it. Restraints curled around the arms of it and for where the feet go. Helplessly watching him climb on it, they strapped him down, and Signe's heart started racing again as one went by the switch to activate it while the others stepped back.

"Sean McLoughlin, you have been found guilty of more than half a dozen murders in the first degree." One officer began. "The penalty is death. Do you have anything to say?"

Water was all over his face, looking at the beautiful face of Signe one last time, memorizing every detail of her and every moment they spent together. He couldn't help but continue to cry with her.

"Signe...and everyone else I killed in cold blood...I'm sorry." Sean said.

With that, he leaned against the electric chair, waiting for the shock. His hands were balled into fists, the officer gripping the switch.

Then...with the pull of the lever, the electricity shot through his body, everything turning white around him as he screamed in agony, Signe crying out to him. He felt his life slowly slipping away, the shocks being too much to handle.

Then..there was nothing, the world fading from his eyes for good, his head lolling to one side. The only thing filling the room was Signe crying and screaming loudly.
