Makarov spent days on the road, buying good with the little money he had. He found that by enlarging his legs he could walk very long distances very quickly although it drained his magic energy very quickly.
One day he came to a village where it was very quiet, he called out but no one replied, he wondered sound a corner and found the reason of the villages apparent abandonment, a huge monster was standing over a group of people, he saw a woman standing over her son, pleading with this monster, and without knowing what he was doing he struck.
His enlarged fist hit the monster directly in the face, it turned to face him and let out a loud growling roar.
It swiped at him with a clawed fist that Makarov nibly dodged, and with a pick to the stomach with an enlarged food knocked the moster out.The villagers let out a almighty cheer and celebrated with a feast. During the feast, the mother who was protecting the children offered Makarov a reward, she would teach him the ancient magic that was known only by the village as a thank you gift for protecting them, Makarov didn't think twice. By the time the feast was over he had agreed.

Many days later Makarov arrived at a tavern and heard need, bad news, apparently a lone man with the ability to shapeshift had tried and failed to defeat a monstrous creature, dying whilst doing it.
