"What the hell was that?" I shout at her before I realise how loud my voice is
"sorry." I mumble
She explains to me now that she has experienced this before. When she gets angry or scared, the ground shakes, or a sharp pain fills her head, and apparently everyone else as well. I can't help it, but I still don't believe her, how the hell could that even be true? But then I remember how scared she had looked outside and in class, and then my mind opens up a little.
"That guy had a gun." I say, as calm as I can.
But she doesn't look shocked. I realise now that he was here for her. Suddenly, the door to the room we're in bursts open, an before I know it, Tom is staring at me.
"What happened, and whats wrong, you look scar-" But he then shuts up when he sees the look on my face.
Taylor begins to tell him what happened, but the whole time he just looks at me.
"you don't believe this crap do you?" He asks, but I know that he does.
I'm a skeptic, I don't believe in ghosts, or monsters or some all powerful being, but Tom does. I remember one summer, when we sneaked into the old railway under London, where I was just doing it purely because I wanted to explore, while Tom came along to catch sight of a ghost. We din't by he way, but I did manage to make Tom almost wet himself when i made a thousand rats angry.
"You can't tell anyone." I tell him, stern faced and all.
He nods and the murmurs "I wouldn't know what to say anyway." He looks at Taylor and smiles. She smiles back.
She tells me that this had only started happening recently, that she could see what people were thinking and could know what people were going to say before they had even began speaking. She hadn't told anyone yet apart from us, and besides no-one would believe her if she told them. She also mentioned strength, like super strength.
"It could just be like when a baby is trapped under a car and the mother fills with adrenaline and can lift up the whole car... but anyway this is pretty cool"said Tom, taking a glance at me.
His face dropped when he realised that I wasn't smiling at him.
"This happened once with me before, not that I mean,I couldn't look into minds and i don't have super strength, but one time, when I was a kid,I used to be afraid of the dark. And one time I was alone at home and it was really dark.I was scared and before I knew what I was doing there was a ball of light in my hand. It was a golden ball of light, shiny and stuff,I think I kind of made it... and when my parents came in I made it disappear, like the particles our atoms or whatever broke apart."
Taylor looks at me, confused obviously and tom laughed until he realised that I was being serious
