The horror Caroline just witnessed was something she would never forget. For the third time, she watched her husband of twenty-seven years make love to another woman.

She had come home early to surprise him. She didn't think she would return to this.

She ran out of their house and outside where a storm was brewing. The woman who she didn't even know the name of ran out of the house with her clothes carelessly tossed on, and she ran to the back of their house, where her car must have been hidden.

Conrad ran out after the woman's car left. He ran towards Caroline, who was sobbing.

"Caroline, I-," he began.

"No! Conrad, I warned you! I warned you countless times that if you hurt me again, I would leave! Do you really think I'm stupid?" She sobbed.

"Caroline, please-."

"Stop. Don't try to explain yourself, because what I just had to see explained enough."

Caroline ran back inside the house. She stomped off to their shared bedroom and grabbed her suitcase out of their closet, then began to pack. She was packing up her valuables first, as she quietly sobbed.

Then, her hands reached her first gift from Conrad. It was a pearl necklace with diamonds surrounded the pearl. On the back was engraved, 'To Caroline, with all of my love, Conrad'. Then, everything flipped.
