"Hey, the storm clouds are going away a little." Noah pointed out. I looked up at the clouds that was beginning to uncover the afternoon sky. It was getting pretty late.

"Hey, can I spend the night here?" I turned to Ava. "Since we have to try to lose the tail tonight."

"Yeah! Noah, ask your parents if you can stay the night too."

"I can just text them." He shrugged, pulling out his phone. Clicking and tapping away on it.

"But I still didn't get a phone yet! Mom said she was gonna get me one but never did."

"It's fine," Noah said not even looking away from his phone. "You can use mine to call yours."

"Okay, thanks." I smiled, nodding. Noah handed me his IPhone, I started dialing my mom's number in. I really hope she's fine with it! Cause we need to do this tonight if I'm gonna be normal again.

I put the phone to my ear, hearing the ringing. Until I heard her pick up.

"Hello?"

"Hey Mom, it's Skylar! Can I stay at Ava's house for tonight so I can....." My eyes quickly shot around as I pondered for an explanation to convince her to let me stay over. I couldn't just tell her that I need to do some sort of weird hocus pocus or whichever to become human after a freak accident that made me grow fins whenever I touch so much as an ounce of water.
"Catch up on some homework?" I quickly said, since I was beginning to stall for too long.

"They're loading you up on work already? School has just started."

"U-uh, yeah I know. I guess they just, want to... Dive into it all already." No pun intended.

There was a bit of silence over the phone until I heard her sigh. "Fine, I guess. Just make sure you get to school tomorrow ON TIME. I don't want you getting a tardy. Now do you need to come home to get some stuff or-"

"No! I mean, no I'm fine. I can just borrow one of Ava's shirts or something. It's getting pretty late so we're gonna go right and hit the books." I nodded.

"Alright then, honey. I'll see you when you get home tomorrow I guess. I love you."

I looked back over to see Noah waiting for me, quietly and patiently.

"I love you too." I hung up, handing the phone back to Noah.

"Thanks." I said. He nodded. Just in time for Ava to walk out with a glass of water which she handed to Noah. He nodded his thanks to her.

"Let's just hope Blair isn't gonna be there too. She just always somehow knows exactly where we are." Ava commented.

"Ha, I swear it's like she's stalking us or something." Noah laughed, taking a sip of his drink.

I had a mental flashback to all that Blair have done. Called me names, push me around, insult me, even make fun of Noah and me 'dating'." I balled my fists in anger at the memory of the word she called me earlier. But I noticed Noah's drink began to bubble slightly.

"Ow!" Noah dropped his glass, smashing on the floor.

"Oh I'm sorry I broke your glass, Ava." He apologized quickly.

"Oh no, it's okay. We have plenty more anyways."

Noah looked to me and smiled. "I just can't have water around you, I swear." He joked.

"Noah, I am so sorry!" I exclaimed.

"Skylar, it's alright." He assured.
I backed up even more.
