As I was pondering too much on the window pane, I took a deep breath and heard something, "Good morning, passengers. This is your captain speaking. We will be arriving at Heathrow airport in approximately 1 hour. Our flight attendants will attend to you shortly when we are nearing our destination."
Every one else was quiet. I could hear some kids giggle in excitement. But, Sandro and I? There was just a moment of silence. It was beginning to sink inside of me. The distance, most especially. How am I supposed to survive without my parents? To not be able to see my mom and listen to her advises will suck. Anxiety was starting to kick in. "I can't do this." I mumbled.
"Hey, don't be nervous. Everything's going to be fine." Sandro said.
Something about what he said assured me and made me feel calm. There's still anxiety. Although, medyo nabawasan naman. I stared at him and smiled.
"You know, you have this thing where you make people feel calm." I told him.
"I assure you... you'll get used to it. Whether you like it or not you have to adjust."
"Yeah."
"That's why you should just chill, relax, and expect the unexpected. Trust me, it works."
I smirked at him and focused on the view.
Just this moment. I hope that I'll be able make it through and really own up to my decision.
"Good morning again, passengers. We are about to reach our destination in 10 minutes. Please buckle your seat belts, adjust your seats, and open your windows."
The moment I heard that, I buckled mine and adjusted my seat.
You can feel the airplane steering and making it's way down.
When I looked out of the window, I saw buildings.
A lot of them.
I seriously felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. Everything inside my body was making it's way up. I bet every one else has felt this way.
"Haha" I said.
"What's funny, Pat?" Sandro said while looking clueless.
"Nothing. It's just this thing happening inside of me when the plane is going down. I don't if I'm just excited or if it's natural. "
"I think it's natural. I feel it too."
We smiled.
It was a smooth landing. The plane was just finding it's parking space in the airport.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at our destination. You can now take off your seat belts and get your bags. Thank you for flying with Philippine Airlines. We hope that you'd continue to fly with us for your upcoming flights. Thank you, again. Mabuhay!"
Then and there I took off my seat belt and stood up. I stretched my arms and legs. Sitting inside the plane for hours hurts my butt so much. Sandro also took of his and started stretching as well.
"Does your butt hurt as well?"
"Yeah." He said while still stretching."
I moved and said, "Excuse me, Sandro." I approached the cabinet above and tried to grab my bag. Unfortunately, I was small and couldn't get a hold of my luggage.
"Here let me help you. What color is your luggage?"
"Oh. I'ts the blue shiny Samsonite one."
