Soren's POV

What the heck?

I stood dumbfounded in front of the dead body. My best man lay there dead. My best friend. The one man who protected me from everything, stood by me through thick and thin.

He was also the best trained, best skilled in my pack. And now he was dead.

Anger boiled in me, all I wanted to do was kill aylaxe. Murder her. But I had to wait for the right time, although I just realised my plan failed.

Bending down, I slowly put my hands over my best friends eyes and shut it.

I would kill aylaxe and her family, for killing my best friend,

And for killing my father.

Aylaxe's POV

We walked away from the corpse, towards what seemed to be his bike.

A black and silver suzuki motorbike that sat in the middle of the car park.

" That's your bike?" Squeling I leapt on to it. The feel of the metal on my hands almost felt natural.

"Woah there!" I turned around to face him smiling.

"You like bikes?" He inquired.

"Are you for real? I love bikes. I just never owned one. My parents were scared I would get myself into an accident."

He came up behind me and planted himself firmly on the seat, handing me the keys.

"I can drive?" Thrilled I grabbed the keys and let myself get the feel of the bike.

"Hold on," I told him cautiously. "I'm a rough driver"

I let my hand turn the handles and let the bike accelerate.

Dodging oncoming traffic I moved swiftly between the cars. Not knowing any roads around New york I kept on driving.

"Jesus! You're fast" I felt aiden's arms encircle my waist. It almost felt natural, having his arms around me.

Almost. If it wasn't for soren, it would have felt real.

Then I felt. A pain so intense it ripped through my body. Almost causing me to slide the bike sideways.

"Aylaxe, lex what's wrong?" I felt aiden's heart beat faster.

"Soren" I whispered before the world around me turned black.

Aiden's POV

She kept tossing in her sleep, repeating soren's name over and over again. After she fainted, I had to pull over and ride the bike while she sat on my lap facing me, her head resting firmly on my shoulders. Bringing her to my appartment, I put her down and watched her as she slept. This was a perfect opportunity to kill her.

Not yet.

Something was holding me back. Some kind of emotion. Guilt? Pity? I don't know.

I flipped through her phone to find her brother's frantic text messages and miscalls.

He was freaking out.

And then there was one message I came accross that stopped me.

"I reject you, aylaxe drakova, as my mate. S"

Putting two and two together I realised something that would change me completley.

Soren and Aylaxe were mates.
