"Why are we hiding from him?" Sarah whispered, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.
"Look, after what he did to us last night I'm starting to get suspicious about him," I whispered back, hoping she would realise he's got it in for us.
"How would he know if a gang would start shooting us? I mean, he can't predict the future."
I sighed," Yeah but he bailed on us. He said that he didn't book us a hotel which I'll admit is fine since he gave us a free flight here. But that's the thing..." My voice trailed off as I heard Aaron and Liz speaking.
"Lizzie! How are you?" Aaron said, laughing a bit.
"Don't call me that!" She snapped but he just laughed again.
"Why the fuck are you here?" She demanded.
"I meet two hooligans off of the streets and I gave them a flight here. For free. Now I know for a fact runaways always come here for help.." I could hear a smile in his voice.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Mr.Burrsir," Liz hissed. I almost did a double take.
Burrsir? You've got to be kidding me.
I heard some whispering going on but I couldn't make it out. Liz came bustling in the door looking angry.
"You two! Out from under the table! You need to go now. Grab your things and go, before it's too late," Liz started ordering.
She wrote something down on a piece of paper and gave it to Sarah," My number in case you need it."
We grabbed our bags and said our goodbyes to Liz who just said," Whatever you do, don't take anyone's help."
Leaving the shop, we walked down the streets, taking in the surroundings. I seen someone holding a map and noticed that there was a local park here.
I was in my own thoughts when I saw Sarah heading towards the park, running.
"Wait! Sarah, wait up!" I called after her. I sped up my pace and went into a run, nearly knocking an old lady who just shot me a dirty look.
I mouthed 'Sorry' to her and continued my pursuit. Trying not to knock over anyone else, I saw Sarah heading towards the park.
She ran down to the middle of the park where there was a lake. She stopped for a moment to catch her breath.
"Hey!" I yelled, getting closer to her. Lowering my voice, I calmly said, "What was that about?"
"Owen...is...here...must....find him," she panted. I raised my eyebrows.
I was about to ask her if she lost her mind when Owen, himself, came over to us.
Sarah's eyes lit up and ran towards him with open arms and pulled him into a hug while I just stood there, awkwardly.
"Owen, how did you find us?" Sarah looked up at Owen who just smiled sadly at her.
"I may have ran after you guys," he muttered.
Sarah suddenly pulled away from the hug and her facial expression had gone from happy to hurt and angry.
"You what?" she shouted at him. "You mean you came after us and, let me guess, you're going to bring us back!"
Owen looked taking aback,"No, I would never-"
"Save it. I need to get something in the shop. Wait here, Alex." Sarah said and went off before we could protest.
"Alex," Owen looked over at me. He seemed really upset but what could I do about it? Sarah could be right, but I guess you'll get no where in life if you keep assuming things.
