"Len, it's just too HARD!" Rin threw her arms up in frustration.
"Come on Rin, I know you can do it" I indicated towards the graph. "You just need to find the y-intercept"
Rin blew out a puff if air before bringing out her calculator and solving the problem. She looked so serious while concentrating on the graph, it was adorable. She even stuck her tongue out the side of her mouth. My mind wandered to what kind of song I would write for the next concert in two weeks.
"Done!"
I looked back to Rin, who was holding the worksheet of homework with a triumphant smile on her face. I smiled and took her sheet from her to check her work.

Len scanned through the latest equation I wrote for the graph. I grew a little anxious as he thoroughly looked through my work. He finally directed his gaze and looked me straight in the eyes.
"...Is it right...?" I asked.
He smiled and gave a thumbs up "you did great!"
Relief washed over me as I sank down from the table we were working at "Thank goodness, my brain is fried!"
"That's all the problems, Rin" he patted my head. A tiny tint of pink spread to my cheeks at his touch.
"Sorry I made you stay while I did my homework" I was kinda embarrassed that I needed him to make sure I wasn't making any mistakes.
"It's okay" Len laughed and scratched the back of his head. "I'm actually gonna go write, I'll be upstairs, Rin" he stood up from the coffee table and proceeded up the carpeted stairs. I watched until his feet disappeared from view. The downstairs now felt empty without his presence.
The first floor of our house was rather simple. The carpet was white, and the kitchen/living room had that open-concept theme. There was a bathroom, office space for my mom, yadda-yadda. All that house stuff.
I started to place my homework into my school bag when I heard the slight chime of the piano upstairs. leaving my bag behind, I crept up the stairs, the carpet cushioning any noise my feet would have left. The second room to the right had one of the French doors cracked ajar.
There were a few broken melodies, the producer of the music playing different chords and keys. I assumed Len was thinking of potential songs for our next concert. I tip-toed to my room, which was the third and final room on the right. I didn't want to mess with Len's funky flow.

After tutoring Rin I decided to brainstorm some songs for our next concert. So I went to the music room upstairs that Rin and I shared. It was the room right after mine on the right.
I played a couple keys, finding the sound I wanted. Starting with concert F, I worked my way up the scales. Ugh, I can't think of anything right now. I eventually resort to playing my older tunes like fireflower.I then start a song that Rin and I usually sing together. It was one of our first songs; Rin Rin Signal. I began at my part:
