Chapter 1: PE's New Face Pt. 1

"Come on Eren We're going to be late again!" Mikasa called from the front door, pushing Armin outside as she yelled.

"Calm down! Sheesh, I'm coming..." I yelled back as I stomped down the stairs. Since mom died, dad went on a drinking binge around the world so Mikasa took over as our mom. Sometimes I appreciate it, but other times it's kind of annoying because I want my little sister.

We gathered at the door together and waded outside. It was a chilly afternoon, but not too bad when the sun hit you. I gazed at the bright blue sky and watched the few white clouds there were, pass overhead.

I was interrupted by a certain coconut after he stubbed his toe on the same light post he always did. "God that hurts so much!" He rubbed his foot in an attempt to make it feel better, but it didn't seem to work since he jumped in a circle a few times.

"Armin calm down, you only stubbed your toe, it's not like you're going to bleed out and die..." Mikasa let out a sigh. She noticed me laughing on the opposite side of Armin, she waved me over and told me we need to hurry to the bus stop if we want to make it on time to school.

I looked at Mikasa then down at my phone in my hand, "It's only 7:15 , we have like twenty-five minutes until the homeroom bell rings, you need to chill your shit." Mikasa huffed and we walked to the bus station around the corner from our house; this bus takes us directly to our school. We don't have school buses because our school, Rose Academy, would rather its budget go to replace equipment, school sports programs, and hire new teachers; which I think is complete bull because now we have to use all our money to take the bus all week to and from school, that's a lot of money we really don't have...

We stood at the bus stop for about five minutes before the white and red bus arrived, the driver opened the door for us and we took our seats. I sat on the opposite side of Armin and Mikasa, she sat closer to me, Armin took the window seat. As soon as I sat down I put my earbuds in and turned my music up so I couldn't hear anything, I'd rather stare out the window than listen to any of Mikasa's lectures about how people today are so ignorant and obnoxious. It's always the same, she sees some rowdy teens and complains about them being under taught in manners and hygiene because apparently they smell pretty bad too.

"-ren." Mikasa's voice was barely audible over my music. "Eren!" She yelled again so I took my right ear bud out to hear her.

"What the hell do you want, Mikasa?"

"Geez no need to get snippy, I just wanted to know what your plans are after school. Armin and I are going to get ice cream and wanted to know if you would like to come as well."

I sighed and took a moment to think before I gave an answer. "Not sure yet, but if nothing comes up I'd be happy to join the love birds." I said the last part with sarcasm because it makes Mikasa angry and Armin blush.

"Shut the hell up, ass" Mikasa screeched. "You know it's not like that so keep your cake hole sealed." She crossed her arms in annoyance and looked in the opposite direction; meanwhile Armin sat in his seat quiet, his face looked like a sun burnt tomato. I feel kind of bad for doing it to Armin because of his personality, but I just can't help myself.

"Rose Academy. This is your stop. I hope you enjoyed the ride, please come again." The driver called over the radio to inform the passengers of their arrival. I gathered my things and put my ear buds away because if you're caught with them on school grounds you get detention. Apparently even when you're not in class it causes your brain cells to deteriorate and memory loss is included; I don't know how true that is of course because it was the principle who told us this...

As soon as my first foot hit the ground I heard a familiar galloping stride come my way. I got my second foot firmly planted on the ground when I saw the foot of a horse who doesn't know his snout from his you know what.
