Chapter 2

"Hi Carl, hi Mia"

"Hi," they said in unison.

I've always think why this two aren't boyfriends yet. Sometimes I don't know why this two are my friends, but if I don't have them I will be alone.

I'm not sure how we end being friends. I just remembered I was on second grade eating alone on second day of school. I had just move of town and I hadn't any friends. They were seeing me until Mia stand up and started walking toward me. Later on we started eating together. Now we are in last year of high school that means being friends about 9 to 10 years already.

For not being so bored at home we always went out. We go to the cinema, to McDonalds or any other food restaurant.

At school we never eat at the cafeteria. We always went to the parking lot and eat right there. We were the type of guys that never interesting happen to them.

"Are you really saying me you like Mia," I said.

"I'm not sure, it's my best friend it's like loving your sister right"

"Ok that's quite right, Carl, but no she is not your sister. You should ask her to be your girlfriend."

"You are saying me to do what"

"I just think she might say, Yes."

"Why you think that?"

"I don't know, you two have been always together since I know you two. Also, she acts different when she is near you."

"Are you sure I need to do that"

"Yes you need, or you can see how she marries and has babies with another guy."

"If you said, what can I do. I'm bad with romantic things."

"I don't know, you are his best friend you know everything about her"

"I know."

"What are you going to do?"

"The question is: What I'm not going to do"

"Say me."

"It's a surprise, you'll see"

I haven't heard anything about Steph in a week. I went looking through the hallways. I think the most used part of a school are hallways. In the classroom you can't talk or do anything interesting, while in hallways a lot of things happen.

While looking for Steph there were kids walking through the hallways each one living their own lives very different from others life. And in those days I never knew those hallways would have that lot of story.

I asked a lot of people about Steph and no one had seen her. I went to the library. Always when I feel bad or strange I go to a quiet place sometimes just to sit and think or I just read any book.

When I was there I look a girl sitting alone in a corner. I just went to where she was.

"Are you okay," I said.

"No," she said.

Immediately I realize who she was. I would immediately know who's voice that was anywhere in the world.

"What happened Steph."

"John I really need a friend now."

"Who can I call."

"No one John, I don't want any of my friends."

"Can I help you in anything."

"Yes, John, please be my friend I really need someone to hug."

"Ok, Steph."

In the next days I started talking with her. She had a big fight with Li. Steph's ex-boyfriend was cheating her with Lisa. Mark has been cheating at her for 3 months already. Sometimes I saw Steph eating alone, so I offered her to eat with us. She accepted.

I was already expecting that people will start gossip about it. And for some reason I feel good when that started. When you see two people apart they might see they would never be friends, but once they are together they might be best friends.

I'm not bad or anything, but I don't believe in "BFF AND TRUE LOVE." BFF don't exist there's always any fight or reason that makes them never talk again. TRUE LOVE it's the same just this one can be seen like in mom and son or dad and son.

"I love Carl," Mia said.

"Okay."
