"Cuckoo!" - A Short Story

Prologue

Cuckoo! is a short story of a young girl, Lilac, who had a magical cuckoo clock. The clock was bequeathed to her by her grandmother, who recently died. Lilac did not know about the enigma of her clock and abhorres it because of the discordant sound it makes. Until, one day, the clock "abducted" and conveyed her to what she described as "'The Cuckoo World". After looking around for a moment, she heard the mellifluous sound of her grandmother's voice. They have seen and talked to each other, her grandmother in the form of a phantasm, then disappeared from the purlieu. Then, she opened her eyes and found herself lying in her bed. She realized how much she cherished her grandmother, as well as the clock that bears her spirit.
