Melrose Clarke, who preferred to be called "Rose", was kind and possibly the sweetest person alive even after her mother, a living victim of Brandon James' attack twenty years ago, killed herself. Her father not being around caused her to live with the Maddox's. Her best friend Brooke, and Brooke's father, Quinn, is the mayor of Lakewood.
Rose had grown up with Brooke Maddox and Jake Fitzgerald, and she eventually fell for Jake, knowing that he wasn't the arrogant, self-centered, horny jock that he made himself out to be.
She knew that the truth was that Jake was actually a big nerdy puppy who would do anything for her and Brooke. After all, they were like the three musketeers.
But when the murder of the biggest bitch in school happens she can't help but to be a little relieved about it, knowing that Nina Patterson couldn't make anyone else's lives a living hell.
And when people begin to suspect that Brandon James is somehow back and Rose begins to receive strange texts and phone calls she starts to slowly lose her mind. She feels alone, and isolates herself, pushing her friends away, but Brooke and Jake aren't going to give up on her.
The only question is if she'll survive the bloodshed.
