The drive to the Pentagon was nerve-racking. Leaving Scar for what seems like eternity felt so wrong that nothing could ever be right again. I was supposed to protect her. She trusted me, and I let her down. Being on a different planet definitely prohibits me from this.
Oh, yeah. Being on a different planet. The drive to the pentagon. I guess it's kinda confusing when you're only just coming into it, but let me give you the gist of it.
Monsters. Monsters have appeared on Earth, and the government is shipping us to Mars.
Crazy, right? Yeah, I think so too. Before this, the craziest thing that happened to me was Mark McClay kissing me at graduation. Yuck.
And Scar? Scar is going through this rebellious stage. Basically, she decided to steal a stupid bracelet, which she later admitted was just for laughs. We had to leave Scar behind because when the planet was evacuated, the government chose to leave behind all prisoners.
You may be thinking that if it was just a bracelet, why was she in prison? Well, my parents thought by keeping her in prison for a week she would learn her lesson. That clearly wasn't their best decision.
"Emerald, Scar would want you to live your life. If that life is on Mars then so be it," dad says the last sentence cheerfully.
Now, this may leave you with a question. Shouldn't your parents be mourning the loss of their daughter? My parents are the kind of people who demand perfection. Don't get me wrong, Scar is beautiful, but she doesn't have much regard for the law.
There really isn't a way to describe Scar, besides the basic information. She has icy-blonde hair, giant blue eyes, and an attitude that could kill. She was perfect in every way. So much so that not even getting arrested could make her look bad.
As we were walking into security, the overhead speaker became filled with a women's voice."Women and children are to board the shuttles first!"
I never really understand why they do that. It's not like men could protect themselves from White-Eyes anyways... that's kinda the reason we're evacuating a planet.
As we walked onto the shuttle, I could feel the fear radiating off of the people. They should be happy, after all they aren't the ones who got left behind.
