(This story is also on my quotev account, but it's under a different name. I only changed the name of the fic from its original place, that is all. I don't own Arkham knight or batman.)

"Jason, you're forgetting something." You stated, sitting behind the computer in the cave with an annoyed expression. Leaning forwards on your hand, chin in your palm. With half lidded eyes, you could see parts of your dark and long eyelashes in your vision as you scrolled through files on the computer. Normally, your father doesn't like it when you're in the cave. But lately? He's been a little more loose on the topic of letting you be involved with the vigilante territory. It isn't like you're putting on a mask and jumping off rooftops. That's where Bruce would draw the line. And you knew it.

"Huh?" The teenager responded, turning around to look at you. Ever since Bruce took Jason in as his ward, it wasn't anything like when Dick was around. There's no brotherly love feeling you get, if anything it's hard to see Jason as anything even like that. To you? Yeah, he's a friend. He's more than a friend, he's probably your closest friend. And just because you're Bruce's flesh and blood doesn't mean you have as bad trust issues as he does. You find it quite easy to let new people in, really. It explains why you have so many friends. Other than the fact your last name is Wayne. Granted, you look more like your mother than your father. But there's no denying you're his kid.

"Remember?" You asked, turning around in the comfy wheeled chair. Crossing your arms over your chest and raising an eyebrow. You had your mothers eyes, full of life (e/c) eyes instead of the greyish blue ones that Bruce did. And your (h/c) hair was definitely a trait you kept the most attention to on yourself. Never bleaching it again, that was a bad idea and Bruce really lost his shit when you tried to dye your hair blue.

"Oh, yeah." Jason replied, a wry laugh in his voice as he made his way over to you. He told you Bruce was letting him go on patrol by himself this time. Jason and Bruce got bck from another mission recently about two hours ago, too. To you, this was new. You didn't hear about it, Bruce would have definitely talked to you about that. He would have told you if he was putting more trust in Jason. Jason first started as Robin when he was fifteen, and he's seventeen now. Granted, you're still sixteen. Which makes it so that Jason has something over you to constantly tease you with. It's so annoying, but in return? It's always fun to give him Oreo's that have the filling swapped out for toothpaste. You think by now the boy would have learned? Nope.

"Alright, I promise to come back in one piece."
Liar.

With that said, Jason took off the red domino mask and flashed you a smile, sticking a thumb up before putting it back on and getting onto the Robin-cycle, taking off out of the main exit of the cave that Bruce uses whenever he uses the Bat-mobile.

Jason's perfectly fallen in place black hair, the way you could still smell the shampoo even from this distance. His happy smile, as if nothing had ever gone wrong in his life when you know that almost anything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong. The way he looked at you, as if he was just going to come back in a couple of hours. The thumbs up he gave you felt more genuine than the last time, it always feels more genuine than the last time.

You smiled to yourself, watching as the large door shut. Making Jason to promise he'll come back in one piece everytime he went out made you feel a little more at ease. You didn't make Dick promise, but before going out on patrol he'd always ruffle your hair. Especially when you were younger. Sure, it bothered you. But at least Jason doesn't do that to you.

Shortly after Jason left, Bruce came running into the cave, asking if Jason had been here. That's when you realized that Bruce really didn't give Jason the permission to go out on his own. Everything seemed to be in slow motion at that moment, and you remember it well. You remember it as the last time you ever saw Jason. The way Bruce's head turned to look at the empty space next to the bat-mobile. When Bruce told you to load up the Robin-cycle's diagnostics, you found it was offline. That Jason had taken the motorcycle apart apart, and took out the tracking device. Jason was good with mechanics, there was no denying he was capable of that.
