To B, K, S & A,
For always listening. And for being my friends. And to Lurlene McDaniel, for writing and dreaming and being the biggest part of my library from the time I was 11. I do not own your characters, but they have become a part of me. Sorry for playing with your world.

I felt it; now I want to build onto it and explore different moments and let it grow. I want to be able to bring it passed 2001, which isn't exactly a lifetime ago but still long enough. What will remain are McDaniel's themes: the strength, the ability to pick up the pieces and move on.
One night can change everything. Sometimes all we can do is march on and heal at our own pace.
