Maddy's pov

There is a small prob'em wit me life right now, the fact that me and my friend Hailey escaped jail. The reason? Well lets just say we are orphans, been trouble since we met, bravest and toughest, know in da Bronks.

Wes been planen' this for a few days now, the guys there r great for helpin' us too. They gave us each an outfit someone suck in, my olda bruddah helped us escaped he and our otha friend Sarah know bout our lil plan.

Sarah's ma cut our hair so its a lil below da chest (before it was all da way down da back). "Im gonna miss ya goils so much!" Sarah hugs me and Hailey. "Ill miss you to." Me and Hailey say.

Wes stucked our hair under our hats and wes look like guys because wes have short side bangs that hang out of da hats. We took our belongins and money and left.

Headin to 'Hattan to meet an old friend who coyld help us a lil. Once we get there its day light, we got some shuteye on da train but it wasn't enough. We finally got to da lodging house to see me grandfather talking to sum newsies that stay here.

"Excuse me sir but may i speak to ya in private." I say (in kind of a man voice) "um...yes, yes. right this way." He don't recognize me which is a good thing, we finally get to his little office.

Hailey closes the door behind us. "What can i help you men with?" i smile and we take our hats off "good to see ya granddad hows ya doin?" he laughs "Maddison! How r u? Hailey! Why are you twos here?"

I shake my head "we need help we ran away, and need a place to stay and become newsies, no one can know that we r goils eda." He frowns but understands. "Maddison you can still go by your name but Hailey go by Hail. You needa have male names to make this all work."

We went around and he showed us the ropes we met the otha guys, and went to bed.

Wes were woken up around, 5. "Wake up, Wake up, CARRY DA BANNAH!!!" Granddad came stormin in waken us all up. "MUSH HELP MADDISON SELL! KID BLINK HELP HAIL SELL WOULD YA!" They come over to us while we finished lacing our shoes.

"You guys will learn from some of da best today, watch and learn!" Mush says. Kid blink laughs.

When the day ended we sold all of our papes. And wes started to head back. "You guys are good, real good." Kid Blink said.

We get back and everyone is havin a great time, singin, dancin, just having fun. "Ey Maddison, Hail come here meet da brooklyn bios!" Jack hollered. "Hold ya horses." Hail said, i laughed.

We walk over to see a boy about 15-16 years old, "Maddison, Hail, this is Spot."

We shook hands.

So far Mush, Kid Blink, and Spot are the cutest. I wish i could just be myself without me having to pretend to be a guy. I look at Hailey, thats what shes thinkin to, i can tell.

"Were ya from?" Spot looks at me, "Da Bronks." I say, Hailey nods.

He nods, we meet the rest of the bios, they're nice, scary and intimidating but nice.
