Prologue ((Updated 2022))

It was such a beautiful day.  The birds sang softly, the sun glowed brightly, a light breeze licked at your fingers. Officer Montgomery and Officer Wilson had parked near the lush hill that hid a secret from the humans. 

 The police officers were drinking sodas and eating subs they had picked up at a nearby deli, roaming the grassy area. They were supposed to be clicking cars with the speed gun, but it was such a nice day outside, nothing wrong with slacking around for a good twenty minutes. 

 Officer Wilson decided to climb the small hill, laughing at some joke Officer Montgomery told. He felt a strange sensation on his feet and looked down. With a terrified gasp, he dropped his meatball sub and cola. "Mont-Montgomery...you should come and see this." 

"What is it, Wil?" Montgomery grunted as he stalked up the hill. "Holy shit."

Wil swallowed the spit in his mouth with a frightened gulp. He nodded in agreement. 

"This is Montgomery to base," Montgomery pulled out his clip-on walkie-talkie.  "--We've got a Jane Doe."

The cops stared at the grotesque sight. A young woman with strawberry blonde hair was shriveled to the bone and laid there in all her glory. Her skin was all wrinkled, not from age, but from the blood loss. 

 "It looks like we have a big-time predator on our hands." Wilson muttered, moving the dead woman's hair aside, and pointed at the two identical marks on the woman's throat.
