Chapter 24

~Iris~

Since the new moon was a few hours away, John and Tom took us out of our little cave.

Tom put handcuffs on us and led us out. He loaded us in a van and slammed the door shut.

"I don't want to die." whispered Zoe to Beau leaning her head on his shoulder

Beau looked at me and I nodded, I promised him.

"I know Précieuse une, I know." he replied

I saw a tear roll down his face, but he quickly wiped it away when he realized I was looking. I looked out the back window and sighed.

Soon we stopped and John opened the door and smiled, "Come on get up. Time is power."

We all got up and walked out. Zoe tripped and fell coming out, Tom was about to yank her up, when Beau pushed him out of the way and helped Zoe up. She smiled gratefully at him.

John led us into an old building. It looked like an old house.

"Where are we?" I asked as I flipped my bangs out of my eyes

"Where the lady lived with her husband." replied Beau

I looked around the mansion, it was all dirty with cobwebs hanging around. It felt so dark and musky.

John led us up the big staircase and into a room. It looked like the main bedroom, there was a queen size bed with ripped up sheets and an antique dresser with bottles of what looked like perfume.

John walled over to the big bookcase and stopped. He reached behind one of the books and suddenly the bookcase opened up and all you could see was pitch black.

John held out his hand and soon there was a small ball of fire in his palm. He led us through a small room that had stones for walls. He took us up some stairs and finally we got to a giant door.

"Is this it?" I asked Zoe quietly

She nodded, "The Universi Virga should be just past the door."

"Alright" John looked at his watch, "We have an hour before it's midnight. Let's get to work."

Tom nodded and grabbed Beau, he held a syringe with the purple liquid in it. Beau looked at me and shook his head, not yet. I nodded, understanding.

Tom pushed the needle into Beau's arm.

"Make sure to give only half a dose. We don't want them to drain all their power, in case their blood is to weak." said John doing the same to Zoe

She whimpered out in pain as she slowly fell to the floor. John sat her next to Beau, who was also on the floor, sitting, looking dazed.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my arm and I fell to the ground as well. Tom dragged me over by the others as they began their ceremony.

"We're almost there." Jake said pulling up to an abandoned aquarium

"Here?" Kyle questioned getting out

Jake looked around, "No, something's not right. What time is it?"

Kayla glanced at her cell phone, "Almost midnight. Why?"

"They already taken them to the mansion." Jake said getting back in the car, "Come on."

We all piled into the car and drove off.

A few minutes later we arrived at an old mansion. It looked like a haunted house rides they have at amusement parks. It had ugly over grown grass and dying trees, that were bent over, and wilting.
