Prologue
Tao lay on the cold, concrete ground, ropes wrapping all around his body. He shuffled slightly to angle his throbbing head towards the screen covering half of one of the walls.
A map tracking the Exotics stared back at him. Panic coursed through him. He tried to scream through the gag covering his mouth, mentally willing them to get away.
But he knew it was no use. They were all going to get caught.
He struggled against the rope one last time, as the sedatives that were injected into him a few minutes ago finally took effect and the drowsiness washed over him.
Even as he lost control over his body and his head fell to the ground limp, he still tried to reach them, praying for their safety.
