"I... I... " he looked like he had just seen the movie Scream for the first time.
"You what Nathan?!, you what?! You son of a freaking fuck!"
I practically yelled my lungs out in his face.
He grabbed my shoulders and shoved me against the wall of the under bridge, "Amanda, I know I'm probably the last person you wanna see right now but calm the fuck down and listen to me! "
I pushed him away, "Let go of me shithead!"
"Fine!" He folded his arms and paced back and forth before me.
I rolled my eyes. "What is eating your brains out?! "
"Look, I know it's been just two weeks since my dad and I moved here but I can swear on my mother's tomb that there's something weird going on with this place". He placed both his hands on his temple and rubbed against it. I straightened myself and pocketed my hands; they were beginning to feel cold. Just when Nathan was about to tell me what this whole weirdness thing was about, he was cut off by a group of drunk-looking high school guys who were coming towards us.
"Meet me at the town library exactly ten minutes after school tomorrow, got it?! "
"Got it! "
I plugged in my head phones, put them on once again and headed straight for my house.
As I walked back home, my mind kept on drifting back to Mrs Maggie's weird behavior earlier in the day.
I didn't even realize I was home until I heard Milton say, " Hey loser, heads up !" and before I knew it, my forehead was being used as a board for spreading pizza toppings.
"Jewel I'm going to kill your little egg-head!!!"
I shouted.
"Amanda leave your brother alone" She yelled back from the top of the stairs. She was finishing up with our laundry.
"He's the one you're supposed to be telling to leave me the hell alone! " I said gritting my teeth and climbed the stairs.
"Language young lady, language!"
She eyed me sternly folding a few clothes.
I ignored her and yelled again hoping that this time the little fucker would open his ears wide enough to hear my threats.
"I'm going to kill you Milton! I'll kill you, you little rat! "
I entered my room, banged the door to show how pissed off I was and flopped onto my bed with my eyes closed.
