Above - The song for dance: Don't be so Hard on Yourself by Jess Glynn.
The week was flying away by before my eyes, drifting faster than I was. It slowed down for me to catch up by Saturday. Thank goodness!
Driving to Stageschool was painstakingly slow. But eventually the hour drive was over.
"Bye you two!" I waved my Dad and Tim off, slamming the door shut. They'd be going to Gymnastics, Tim always went, no exception. I was the same with Stageschool, in fact that very day I got my reward for 8 years. For every year you went you got another award, proper glass ornaments to! I walked round the twisting corridors until finally reaching the drama studio, where my second family was waiting.
Obviously we're not actually blood related but like I said, after going for as long as I do you start to feel an emotional connection. I'd seen many come and go, we didn't even have the same set of teachers as when I'd started off! But, it was my break from drama at school and at home, just relaxation.
1, 2, 3.. the bell had gone and we had been led into dance, and after a long warm-up, we went over the dance we had been working on for so long. It was now flawless, we were perfectly synced in time and it looked like an effortless masterpiece, if I do say so myself.
The eldest and next group, Group 4, were with us, so after showing our piece we got some applause before sitting down to watch them.
There dance was amazing, to 'All that Jazz' you knew it was to be a bit, what's the word? Riské. You couldn't help but laugh at some parts though, like the boys in the back who were doing the dance but very badly, it ended up looking like they needed the loo. Jerome, the dance teacher, had a right go at them before spotting something in the mirror and ran to Callie, the best singer in the history of Group 3,
"Is this what I think it is?!" He pointed to his head
Callie gave him a confused look.
"Calliope Rower, I see a great hair!" We all burst into fits of laughter.
"It's nothing to worry about! How old are you anyway?" She asked getting a shocked look in return.
"Only, 21!" Replied Abbie sarcastically to a her best friend. Jeromy pretended to be upset with them.
"I don't get paid enough, with you two harassing me all the time!"
Drama was, dramatic. We went over our comedy piece and generally laughed at Annie's impression of an old woman. Break was next and the hours were slipping away. I didn't want it to end, no arguing, no sadness, no drama (of the bad kind), just bliss. I let go of all my worries there. Munching on a Caramel Wafer I chatted to the other girls, Lucy was chatting about her friends online, Georgie and Georgia were talking about The Voice and the others were giggling about what the afternoon school would be like. That next week the afternoon guys were coming so we could have a dress rehearsal, Stageschool all day! Anyway we barley had any boys in the morning so you can guess what hey were talking about.
Break was shortened for the awards and Justeen, the head, came with the glass ornaments, there the rewards. People were called up one by one. 1 year, 2 years, 3 years...
Then there was 8 years, I still remember the look on Group 4s faces, a kid getting an eight year award, smirking with joy a went to collect my prize.
Harmony spread throughout my body as I sung in the beautiful chorus of Bohemian Rhapsody, paired with Group 4 it sounded stunning. I was one of the sopranos (high singers) and, though a challenge, the result was a melodious sound. Finnaly, a perfect cover.
The way home was faster than expected, but I couldn't wait, after Stageschool I went running with Eliza. As soon as the house was in reach I bounced up the stairs and changed faster than a bullet into my running gear, grabbing my phone and water bottle, headed for the park...
I know when I'll upload now! Surprising, me, organised! Once a week i'll upload that's a promise, 😅 probably, if I remember. 😆
