Tory's POV
"Coop!" I scream. This is the second hurricane I've been through. The first one was when we busted the Gamemaker, Hurricane Katelyn, categorized as a three. This one, Hurricane Aona, as a four. Wind speeds of up to 155 mph, and yet once again, we managed to be the only ones on trapped Morris. I left a note on the fridge for Kit saying to not worry about us, and that we were going to the safety center as soon as we were done. Of course, we would explain everything later, but for now, we need to focus on finding Coop.
"Cooper, here boy!" We've been out here for a good half an hour, still no signs of Coop. The boys are starting to get impatient.
I start to whistle, but am cut of by Shelton, "Tor, we have to go. The winds are picking up speed. Fast."
I can't give up now! "Just five more..."
"Tory, he's right. I'm sorry you couldn't find Cooper, but he's a smart dog. He'll make it," Ben assures me.
I can't give up on Coop! I scan the area one more time. To my surprise, I see a gray blob dart along the tree line, heading straight towards our first bunker. Coop? I have to be sure.
SNAP_
My senses blast into hyperdrive. Off balance, I stumble to the ground, the wind not helping. Ben helps me to my feet."You okay?" Ben asks as I ring out my my shirt.
"Yeah," I say. Our eyes meet as his deep brown ones begin to illuminate a golden glow.
"Are you flaring?" Hi asks, nervously.
I nod and shush him. Drawing my attention back to the old bunker, I see a gray tail go through.
"Cooper!" I start running with the water just below my knees. It slows me down, but still I'm faster than any human with my flare strength. Finally to the bunker, I yell out, "Coop!"
I hear a whimper inside. He's still alive! I dive into the entrance of the bunker, but a pair of arms circle my waist, pulling me back. Ben.
"I'm not letting you in there, the whole thing could collapse on you."
"What about Coop?" Another gust of wind knocks us to the ground, giving me time to free myself from Ben and enter the bunker.
With the bunker being underground, the water almost reaches the ceiling. I take a deep breath as I submerge further into the water. Opening my eyes, I see Coop on the way other side, near the escape exit. I put all my energy into getting over to Coop who is now inside the tunnel. As I reach him, I notice his head in the only air pocket, preparing to dive under again. I wrap my arms around him as I make my way to the air bubble.
"Cooper!" I yell as I'm greeted by a slobbery tongue. "Hey boy! Come on we have to go." Making sure I have a good grip on him I try to communicate telepathically, to make sure he understands.
Coop, get ready, we're going under.
He licks my face, letting me know he got the message. I take a few deep breaths.
Three! Two! One!
I dive under keeping a good grip on Coop. We exit out of the tunnel and enter the flooded main room just as a large block of metal comes crashing down on my head.
SNUP_
Out of instinct, I take gasp in pain, but I receive water rather than air. Black spots threaten my vision as my grip loosens on Coop. I lift one hand to where I was hit and feel something warm. Bringing my hand down, I see blood being diluted. Panicking, I know I need to get to the top. My fingers probe above me until they reach the ceiling exactly where the air pocket was when I first found Coop. Quickly, I raise my head up and take a deep breath, once again only getting water. Sending me in a coughing fit, my lungs burn more than ever. More rain must've flooded the bunker because there is absolutely no air left. I have to get out.
Wait! Where's Cooper? I open my eyes to see him exiting the bunker. At least he's safe. My lungs try to force air into them, but I only get more water. I start kicking uncontrollably, but it's not getting me anywhere. I've lost all of the air in my lungs as more black spots swarm my vision. My body goes limp. I open my eyes to see if Coop made it out, just in time to see Ben in front of my face. Panic fills his glowing eyes, he's still flaring. My body numbs to the point where I can't move my own limbs. My lips start to part, releasing the small amount of air I had left to be replaced with water. I feel Ben's arms wrap around my waist as we start to move towards the entrance of the bunker. We're almost out when the darkness finally takes over.
What do you think? Was it okay? I appreciate you reading this and it would be awesome if you even threw a comment or two in there! Thanks!
