TORY's POV
Where am I? Laying on my stomach, I stare at the floor tiles. How did I get here? Wait, am I in the hospital? Why? I position my head to look out the window. The sky is a reddish gray. Was there a storm? Why isn't anyone on the streets? Where is everyone? I sigh. I feel so lonely. Why am I here anyway? I push off the bed with my arms and twist into a sitting position only to have my right leg numb. That was weird. Footsteps come my way. Lifting my gaze from the floor tiles, I look into Ben's eyes. I'm not alone! I ignore the needles delivering liquid from my arms.
"Ben," I say, relieved. I push myself off the bed, but as soon as I get on both my feet, I collapse. Luckily, Ben catches me.
"Lets you have you stay on the bed," Ben says, supporting all of my weight.
"But it's so boring!" I pout, sticking out my bottom lip.
"I think they gave you too much pain meds," he says.
"Why do you say that?" I ask confused. He doesn't reply. I frown hoping to get an answer, but fail. I can't stay mad at Ben! I lay my in the bed, but he props my right leg up, not allowing my thigh to touch the bed.
"Why am I in here?" I asks.
'I'll tell you later," he says.
"Promise?" I beg.
"Fine," he says.
"I like you," I whisper. Ben just chuckles.
"I like you too," he says, amused for some reason.
"No, I like, like you," I change my mind. I pull him back down, kissing him on the cheek.
"Defiantly too many pain meds," he says with a grin.
Still confused by what he means, I give him a questioning look.
"Just go to sleep Tor." He presses a button on the side of my bed sending a cloudy liquid into my arm that makes me tired. I see Ben smile.
In the last few moments before I slip into unconsciousness, he says, "You're going to be so embarrassed when you're back."
He moves close and surprises me when his lips meet my forehead. He slowly pulls away.
His sparkling eyes are the last things I see.
I know that this was a pretty short chapter but I needed to throw it in there.
