BEING FRIENDS WITH DINGER Holfield and Bobby Keller was not the easiest thing in the world. Yet, Ella Murray seemed to mange quite well, she's been there through all the stupid talks and all the jokes.

She seemed to be the only girl they truly hung out with—other than Laine who is Bobby's girlfriend. But, the brunette has known them since grade school.

Ella was closest to Dinger, although the two seemed to be complete opposites—Ella seemed to be a good student with straight A's and no bad behavior.

But, Dinger would beg to differ, Ella was a smart person and she got good grades but she was late to class everyday, smoked, and partied just like Dinger and Bobby.

Dinger was a 'bad boy', he was failing most of his classes (due to him skipping, being late, or just not paying attention), he smoked, he drank, he partied a lot, and he was the school player—until Ella told him about how she didn't like him treating girls like that. She had him wrapped around her finger and they both knew it.

"I have you in the palm of my hand and we both know it." Ella would say with a grin.

Dinger would roll his eyes and speak with a sarcastic tone, "Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night."

A mischievous smile would spread across her face, "Dinger, would you please go get me a drink?"

Dinger would nod his head and go into the kitchen finally realizing what he did, "Shit!"

Ella would be giggling in the next room as Dinger yelled but came back with a glass of water and a sarcastic remark.

The two evened each other out, they made each other better. Bobby and Laine knew that there was at least something going on between them, they just kept their thoughts to themselves as they would watch the two have a childish argument over who should get up and answer the phone—usually it ended in Ella being tickled by Dinger and the phone being ignored.

No one seemed to mess with Ella when she was with Dinger because he would always have a protective arm around her shoulder or waist, and if any guy or girl messed with her Dinger would stand up for her in a heartbeat. Ella could take care of herself but she loved how protective Dinger was.

They were an odd couple—Ella having a good girl reputation and Dinger having a bad boy reputation.

But, you know what people say; opposites attract.
