Laura's Pov

I watch as the trees pass and the houses change. I can't believe I have to start over in a new town, new house, and new school. I have to admit I miss Chase and am extremely excited about getting to live with my older brother but given the circumstances, I most definitely could be more excited.

I had originally lived in California with my mother. Life was great. I had amazing friends, a fantastic job, and was about to start my senior year in high school. All that changed in one night. My mom was in a car accident two months ago and lost her life. Now I have to go live with my brother in Oregon.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts as we pull into the driveway of the cream color house. "Welcome home baby sis," my brother says as he puts the car in park. I send him a weak smile as I get out of the car.

We walk into the house amd I release a breath I didn't realize I was holding. The house was so welcoming. It had grey walls with a hardwood flooring. It was ovious his ex whom he originally shared the house with did the decor. It was all coordinated.

"All my stuff in my room?" I ask curiously not seeing any boxes. Since the week after the accident me and Chase have been packing my stuff to move here. That's how I spent my summer, grieving and packing stuff to move. We sent all my stuff ahead of us with my brothers pal and stayed behind so I could say goodbye.

"Yeah. Everything is in your room. Remember upstairs second to the left. You might as well start unpacking," Chase replied.

"Ok."

I head up to the stairs and follow the direction he gave me. I open the door with a sense of familiarity. I stayed with Chase for a week last summer. This was labeled as my room.

I begin by putting my clothes away. Some of it goes into my dresser Chase had put in while the rest goes into the closest. That takes about an hour. After that I feel rather lazy and just chunk all the shoes in the closet.... the whole five pair. I've never been a big shoe person despite what the stereotypes say aboit girls and their shoes.

Finally I put up my band posters: My Chemical Romance, Radiohead, and Nickelback. Don't judge me. I'm intitled to like whatever music I please to. Plus you have to admit: I have amazing taste.

As I'm hanging my last poster up I can't help notice through my window the room across from me next door. It seems as if someone has moved in since the last time I was here.

It's obviously a teenagers room. And by the color it's a guys room. All of a sudden their bedroom door opens revealing a shirtless god.

Ok maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But this guy is smoking. He has slicked up jet black hair, tanned skin, muscular body showing he definitely works out, and eyes the color of the ocean. I snap out of my gaze to notice him smirking at me.

I pull the curtain back knowing my cheeks are redder than a tomato. What is wrong with me? Checking out a guy on my first official day here. I've lost it.

*knock knock*

"Hey Laura. Dinners ready for you. Go ahead and come down." I hear Chase say through the door.

I run down stairs and get hit in the face with the smell of Pasta a la King. My favorite. I snile at Chase as I sit in front of my plate.

Chase is a chef. He left off for school and to persue his passion when I was 4. It was hard on everyone with him never being home. He eventually mobed here to Cali. two years ago with gis ex girlfriend Chelsee. They broke up last year due to her being a slutty ass whore and cheating on him. He didn't deserve it. Then again, nobody really does.

"I know you've been avoiding this conversation but you can't anymore. I understand it's your senior year and you don't wanna have to go through it being the new girl but you've gotta go..." Chase starts.

I look up at him with a blank expression and he sighs.

"Laura, you'll start Tuesday. That'll give you tomorrow off. You're only two weeks behind so you'll do just fine kiddo."

"Ok. I'm gonna head up to bed. Goodnight."

"Goodnight. I love you so much little sis."

"I love you too."

With that I go upstairs to my room. I look out the window only to be greated by darkness. Great. My neighbor thinks I'm a creep. This is gonna be one hell of a year.
