"The Warriors?" I asked, "Then why do I not recall you guys recruiting me?"
"Well I don't know." Darla says defeated, "The only way for me to find out is to look into your head. I might be able to see what happened." Darla stands up and walks up to me. She hold up both of her hands and presses them against my temples. I jerked away.
"What are you doing?" I asked. I moved back and try to hide the scared look on my face.
"I'm trying to look inside your head. Now come back."
"You're crazy!" I tempted to run, but I found myself unable to move. I screamed, "What are you doing to me! Why can't I move!"
"It's called magic dear. You have it to. You just don't know how to use it." She smirks and walks toward me, but this time I couldn't run. She places her hands on my head and closes her eyes. It looked like she was deeply concentrating because you can see lines forming on her forehead. Then she suddenly jerks away. She rubs her hand together as if something shocked her.
"Mother what happened?" Mallen stands up and runs over to her. Liz looks at Darla with concern.
"I-I don't know? Something won't let me see inside her head. It's like a block. It's powerful, more powerful than me."
"Impossible, you're one of the most powerful Warrior out there!" exclaims Liz, "Keep trying."
Darla attempts again, but the same thing happens. She was frustrated and confused. She collapses onto the ground, but Mallen cathches her. After immediately she falls I was able to move again. Darla must be the one who made me stop moving. Mallen carries his mom like a baby and exits the room. Liz follows behind them. I was left alone in the room and a breeze flows throught the room. A breeze? The fire from the fireplace crackles as it continues to burm the wood. I went over to the sofa and sat down, digesting everything that just happened.
"Warriors." I whispered to myself. I tried to remember what happened in the past, but I can't recall it. I don't remember anyone summoning me or mentioning The Warriors. What were they anyways? Then I heard footsteps coming from the hall. I look around the room to find a place to hide, but nothing was big enough to cover me. I panicked. Then the figure enters.
It was a man, probably in his twenties. He was holding a stern face and his brown hair, slicked back. The light from the fire illuminates the muscles on his arm and his tall, lean body. He was wearing a maroon jacket and sweatpants and his features were striking.
I froze into place. I didn't know what to do. "Hi?" was all I had to say.
"Autumn?" he says with a shocked face.
I think I was more shocked when he said my name, "D-d-do I know you?" I stammered. How did he know me? Why does everyone know me?
"Yes, no, I don't know."
We stayed silent for a few minutes. As the moments pass, recognition starts to set in, but I couldn't quite pinpoint it. He looked really familiar, but where have I seen him? He was looking around the room and I was just staring at him. He must have felt it because he turned to me. God, I bet I was blushing like a tomato.
"Um..." he starts, "I think I better go." He turns around and starts to walk through the entrance.
"Wait!" He turns and looks at me. I continue, "I need help." I hate to admit it, but I did.
I see the corners of his lip curl up and says, "Follow me." I follow him through numerous halls. Again. And we went up the same staircase Mallen took me. We stopped in front of a door and he looks both way before opening it. We enter and inside was a bedroom. It was bigger than Mallen's and the décor was more modern. A bed with gray bedsheets was crumpled to the side and most of the furniture was either black, white, or gray.
I was the one who started speaking, "Maxon?"
His body and tenses up, "You remember me?"
"No, I just heard Darla say the name Maxon. I assume it's you since yea." Yea? Ugh. I really need to work on speaking properly. "And BTW can you explain what hell is happening here?"
Maxon takes a deep breath. I see his chest rising up and down. I wonder if he has a six pack. Ugh stop Autumn! Focus! "This is my house and we met before."
"I don't remember me-"
Maxon cuts me off and speaks, "The reason you don't remember is because someone put a block in your memory."
"But who would do that?"
He hesitates, "I would."
I gasp. "Why would you do that? No one asked you to!" I had the urge of just punching him, but I knew it wouldn't even hurt him. I'm just a small mouse to him.
"Because..." He hesitates again. God, "because you asked me to."
"What?" I was in shock. I don't remember ever talking to this dude and now he's saying I asked him to put a block in my memory? "Enlighten me please."
