Subaru walked into class. He had her sketchbook in his bag ready to return it. The albino heard sniffles and quiet sobs. Curious, he scanned the room before everything shattered.

The night before, Enma Ai had drowned herself in a lake at around 12am. She left no note or anything. Just her shoes and her signature water lily headband.

Subaru couldn't say anything to anyone. The entire day he just sat around, poker faced. He broke Laito's nose when he said something about his dead friend and told them all to rot in hell before storming to his room.

He tore open the sketchbook and looked for any clues.

There were detailed pictures of birds and small animals, a cross, a house with a wife, husband and two children. There was a new house, an older looking version of the parents and the daughter, the boy from earlier was shown as an adult and walking away, a dog, a grave with a collar, a cat, a lake-.

Subaru stared at the lake and saw the out line of a hand reaching out. He furrowed his brows.

"Ai.."

He flipped some more, a crying child, a burning house, the child again but two shadowy figures laughing at it, a scared lamb and two wolves, a detailed hospital room, Subaru smiling at a rose. He frowned at that picture. There was a picture of himself and Yui. There was a picture of a long haired girl staring into a mirror. Her reflection looked exactly like Ai but she was obviously straining a smile.

The last picture was Ai floating underwater surrounded by jellyfish and in a knee length white dress. She was smiling and had her eyes closed.

After that made Subaru cry. There was a little note on the next page.

'Subaru,
Thank you for being my friend. I know towards the end I may have gotten snappy but, now I'm at peace. Im no longer sad and alone.
Please don't be mad, or hate yourself. You may not think it but I was paying attention to you. My death was not your fault. I had planned to do this from the beginning. It was lonely. I hated my home, my friends, my self. But I never hated you. Even when all you talked about was that Yui girl.
