Your POV.
I decided to stay the night.
He couldn't focus and I couldn't fail Astronomy.
I found it was better this way. I mean, he wouldn't work no matter what I asked him. And he wouldn't listen to the things I told him. He just looked dazed.
I ended up finishing the project for him around 7 and eating dinner at 7:30. It was a classy poster, colored black and painted to look like a galaxy. In white were all the facts about Saturn and it's rings.
The dinner table was the main event of the night though.
And I thought my family was crazy.
People buzzed around like the family circus, stringing gossip on a wire for Mrs. Ro'Meave to pounce on at full force.
"So, mum,"
Garroth started, shoveling Mac and cheese down his throat.
"Have you heard that the soccer team won the last game?"
"Of course dear, I mean, everyone reads the school newspaper!"
Mrs. Ro'Meave replied, eating the pasta at the same velocity.
We have a school newspaper?
I awkwardly ate the food placed in front of me, giving no complaints nor talking at all. Eventually, Zane nudged me with his hand, whispering to me.
"What's up?"
He asked, wondering about my glazed stare out the window and my barely touched Mac and Cheese. I sighed deeply, muttering back.
"I never expected your family to be this loud."
He frowned a bit, moving his food around on the plate.
"Does it bother you? We can leave.."
"No! It's fine. It's just refreshing."I smiled at him.
"I thought they were going to be like you, that's all."
His gaze lowered.
"Are you saying I'm boring?"
I froze.
Dammit.
"N-no! I'm just saying-"
"Hey mom!"Zane suddenly shouted. The entire room went silent. All eyes and attention on him. Garroth and Vylad looked at me with a startled expression.
I could only sigh and shake my head.
"Yes dear?"
Mrs. Ro'Meave asked, setting down her cup of tea and grinning at her son.
"D-did you hear about y/n's parents?"
I almost fell out of my chair.
Why is he bringing me up?!
"They moved here from (town), and have jobs in (favorite company)"
"Wow! You come from a dependable family. You're looking more and more perfect for my Zuu Zuu."
She giggled loudly, making my face turn red.
Was her only thought about who her sons ended up with?!
"U-uh.. What about you Mr. Ro'Meave? What do you do?"
I tried to steer the conversation away from me.
"Well I am a business man in charge of-"
I blurred out his conversation after the word business, nodding and acting like I cared with immense detail.
