"this was never supposed to happen." she quickened her pace as the words were spoken. penny never thought that she would be avoiding her "one true love", thomas. what she'd learned over the past month was that true love didn't exist and that everything can change in the blink of an eye.
"i-i love you! what more could you ask for." she was almost running, knowing that she can't listen to his words and fall back into his lies. "i messed up. i care about you. i can't handle thi-god, look at me penny-"
"no." she interrupted, finally stopping his unnecessary words. she wasn't going back to him, never again. "you don't get to call me penny, or pen, or little jones, or anything." she continued to walk, but sighed and turned. "you love me, you say?" he nodded after she questioned him, a sad look on the boy's face. she couldn't look at him like this, but she knew he was struggling too. her knees were shaky, her eyes red, and her books ready to slip out of her hands. stupid girl; she left her backpack at his house, so she had to carry everything. she finally sighed and spoke again, looking down.
"you lost your chance, and i know that you won't find it with your tongue as it's not down margaret's throat." she looked back up to him with the stare that he allegedly fell in love with and took off, feeling tears streak down her face.how did this happen? she was so in love for so long, how did it end so swiftly? how did she lose her dearest friend that easily? what went wrong? everything was so perfect at the start...
