The long beeping sounds woke me. The clean white of the walls reflected the light from the window. The calm doctors voice helped a bit. It was very confusing coming round. The black was very familiar to me, and to go to complete white was startling. The doctor said a few things, but I could only focus on his lips.
He left the room. All I could hear was the faint mumbling outside. How long was I out for? I try standing. Shakily I reach for the door. It slides open. The angelic white walls with the contrasting bonsai plants. The almost silent corridors. I managed to crawl outside.
There was a small garden like area here. A stone pathway leading into a forest. Flash! I saw a figure all in black flash by. I staggered along to find the cause, but my legs disagreed.
I struggled back through the sliding oak doors unsatisfied. I took a look at my black and white pocket watch. I knew it was time for my exam. I walked as fast as my legs would take me, back to my bed and pretended that nothing had happened.
I lie down and close my eyes. I feel my muscles relax as I fall asleep.
Boom! The sliding oak door splits in half, to reveal the same black figure. His hair greasy and slicked back, his eyes as red as the fires of hell, a grey fedora and a serpentine tongue. I scramble back in the bed, hitting my head on the way. He stood at the front of the bed. Tilted his head up, and slipped out his tongue. "Hello Kiri, I can be whatever you want, your prisoner, your slave, your friend..."
His fingers clicked, all went black again. A tint of red shone like an open fire. Click!
"Wake up!"
