Asylum

Chapter 2

Screams. That's all I hear from her. I desperately wonder what's going on.

"Sarah." I yell

"Yes Doctor?"

"Are they still with my new patient?"

"Yes sir, I believe they are." Sarah says

"What are they doing to her?" I ask taking a sip of my coffee

"They are strapping her down." Sarah says silently.

"She is that unstable?" I ask as I take another sip

"Hard to believe from an eighteen year old girl." She says. The SWAT agents come out from her room.

"Patient is stable doctor. Have a good evening." One of the agents says as they all walk out.

"Well I'm heading home Doctor. I'll see you tomorrow." Sarah says as she grabs her things and leaves. I sit in my office thinking about Avani. I decide to go check on her. I walk to her room to hear crying.

"GET OUT! GET OUT!" She yells before I open the door. I swing the door open and I see her.  and she stops crying.

"Who... Who are you?" She asks me 

"You don't know me?" I ask her. She looks at me with horror in her eyes.

"Should I?" She asks me as her voice cracks.

"We met earlier. I'm Doctor Price." I say as I sit next to her

"Oh hello...I'm sorry, I don't remember." She says as she attempts to look outside.

"Doctor it's late. Shouldn't you be home?" She asks me.

"I had to come greet you. I would not have been kind of me to just leave you here." I tell her and she smiles. Her pure smile fades and an evil grin appears on her face.

"Avani?" I ask her . She stares into my eyes. Her eyes dark and she laughs at me, mocking me.

"I believe you have mistaken me for someone else." She laughs

"Who are you?" I ask. She becomes even more angry.

"Do not ask me that Doctor. I will break free from the restraints and strangle you until your neck snaps."
She says but then she twitches.

"You leave him alone! We have done enough damage and have taken too many lives! Just stop!" Avani yells. She changes once again

"You shut your mouth before I kill you." It says

"Please leave!" The voice of innocence yells.

"prostibuli humanis! Human whore!" The voice of the demon whispers harshly. She turns to look at me.

"et non senties dolorem magnum adeo inhumanum excogitassent masculinum!"

"You will feel great pain you inhuman male." I repeat her. She laughs. A deep and sinister laugh.

"Exite! Exite!" Avani yells.

"Avani? Can you hear me?" l yell. Avani's eyes change back to her hazel ones and she nods.

"I'm so sorry Doctor. It wasn't me."

"I understand." I tell her.

"Try to rest. I'll see you in the morning." I say about to leave. I get up from my chair and begin to walk out.

"Wait! Don't go!" she yells. I turn around to look into her pleading eyes

"Stay please. I don't want her coming back. She won't let me sleep at night. She never does." Avani begs. I simply nod my head and sit back down.

"Do you sing?" She asks me. I laugh

"I'm not the best at it."

"That's okay. Can you sing me something?"

"I can try" I say and she weakly smiles for a second then closes her eyes while a final drop of her tears comes out. How can someone so fragile become so vicious? I look at my patient as I hum a simple tune that pops in my head.

"God save my soul" She whispers before she falls into deep sleep. I look at her, examining her body. Thin and small. It's hard to imagine what horrific things this young girl can do. This eighteen year old fragile girl. I continue to examine her when my phone goes off. 11:30 the time reads. I get up to walk out of her room. As I close the door behind me I can't help but bare a simple smile. This girl is different, not like any patient I have met. I continue to ponder thoughts about her as I walk out of my institute. As I approach my car I turn back to look at the building behind me.

"Avani." I sigh. People do not deserve this. People like her. People like the fragile Avani I saw before me. The demon inside her that claims her poor body.
