Epilogue
"Um, Miss Wallaflower, you're being excused," my math teacher announced, as I slammed my textbook shut. My glossy, blond hair bounced as I stood up. I painted a smile on my face as I reached down and picked up my backpack.
"Oh? For what, ma'am?" I asked her, tossing my hair behind my back, and batting my green, cool eyes. Miss Stacy Ching, who had never been married, raised her eyebrow. Then, she shrugged.
"Victoria, you were called, so go."
I chuckled, walking down to the main office. The secretary opened the door for me, and pulled up a seat.
"Victoria, I'd like to talk to you about something," she said, in a rather serious monotone. I nodded, tapping my foot. "your mother."
A teardrop slid down my face. I repeated the words in my head, your mother. I jumped up, embracing her. "My God, you found her!"
The secretary told me to sit down, then sadly shook her head. Some things were just a little to good to be true, I suppose. My mother had died in a car accident six years ago, when I was eight. When the police inspected the car, she had disappeared.
"Uh..no, dear. But, we found this." She handed me a glossy book, with greek letters on the cover. I nodded, slowly, and opened the cover...
THE SECRETS I LEFT BEHIND.
