The rest of the week is spent working both at OLA and at home on the party. So far the party is really coming together and I can also feel tensions mounting between Ahren and I. Even when we're doing something as innocent as scanning shirts or boxing orders I always catch him looking at me in a way that definitely isn't how you'd normally look at your employee. A few times I'd stop and ask him if I could help him with something, but each time he'd just shake his head, smile in that way of his and go back to whatever it is he was doing.  I haven't seen any hint of the mystery lady and I wonder if he finally got rid of her. My head tells me that even if he did I shouldn't give in to him again.

It's finally Friday. I stayed up late last night finishing up last minute details and now, standing here looking at the finished product, everything looks awesome. All of us spent yesterday evening cleaning the whole place from top to bottom. Ryan even waxed the floors (which made walking rather difficult in socks or slippery shoes) and did the outside hallway. The apartment gleamed. We'd pushed all of the furniture into Joel's huge bedroom and used the empty floor space to put down a light up dance floor. A bubble machine stands in one corner and Ahren paid someone from Craigslist to set up a stage for the DJ. Fairy lights are strung across the ceiling and wrap down around the stage and cover the porch outside. The porch is set up with four huge containers of water balloons, a dunk tank, and a slip'n'slide like I'd wanted. Twenty kegs are set up, the liquor cabinet stocked full with anything you could ever want, and two huge tubs of Jungle Juice sit ready for the guests. Ahren and I even made jello shots and bought ten cases of Monsters for JaegerBombs.

We both look around, proud as hell, and Ryan even whistles as he and Dan return from a pizza trip.

"This is going to be one for the books," Dan agrees.

"I couldn't have done it without you, Hudson," Ahren says with a smile.

"Aw, that's so swee-" I begin to say, but Ahren cuts me off.

"I mean I could've, but it wouldn't have turned out /as/ dope," he says with a smirk. I shove him so hard he crashes into the counter and knocks all of the bags of chips onto the floor.

"Oops, sorry," I shoot back with a smug grin.

"I was only kidding," Ahren pouts.

"I know." Keeping my grin in place I look at my phone. "I'm going to start getting ready."

Back in my room I close the door behind me and walk into the bathroom. After a shower, I wrap myself up in a towel and pull up Pinterest on my phone, trying to decide how to do my hair and makeup. Luckily I'd already chosen my outfit last night but to be honest I've never been too great at styling hair. I can dye and bleach it just fine but that's about the extent of my abilities. It takes me a minute to find a simple style that is within my reach but when I finally do I'm confident I can't arse it up completely. I lightly spritz my fingers with hairspray and set to work, taking my ends and rolling them up, sliding silver bobby pins into the roll to secure it. One look in the mirror tells me it's a little too plain for my liking and so I dig through my hair accessories until I find a black bow, fastening it just above the roll. Better. My makeup doesn't take me as long, deciding to keep it pretty simple with a silver smokey eye and a lavender lipstick to match the color of my hair. A razor sharp cat eye and false lashes complete the look. Luckily I've had my outfit picked out for a couple days now, sticking with the silver theme with a black cage tank top, silver pants and spiked black sandals. A final look in the mirror and I am satisfied with the Hudson that smiles back at me.

The wub wub wub of some EDM song pulses through the floor, the sounds of the party beginning filtering through the crack under my door. Sounds like Ahren has a lot of friends. I don't know anyone here to invite and so I let Ahren handle that side of things. As soon as I step out into the hallway and walk towards the party the bass multiplies by ten. The place isn't packed yet but judging from the amount of people already here and the ones still pouring in this is going to be one wild party to remember.
