Eve and I started walking to the bus stop. The school year was almost over and everyone was packing in for exams. We got to the bus stop but something was off. The bus stop was deserted. The birds weren't even chirping. I reached out for Eve's hand even though I new it was childish. She grabbed on. We turned in a full circle and spotted what was causing the disturbance. There was a shirtless man with a brown HORSE BODY for legs!!! I recognized him as a centaur from one of my books. He was Chiron from Percy Jackson. I couldn't believe my eyes. This was insane. He started trotting (I think that's what you would call it) toward us. I stepped back.
"Hello Ms. Legatus and the other Ms. Legatus." He said it with a smile like this wasn't the weirdest thing ever.
"Hey, Chiron" I said, still uneasy. "What are you doing here." I turned to Eve. "Chiron is here right. I'm not completely insane."
"You're not completely crazy... I think." Eve whispered. We were still both in awe so all she could manage was a whisper.
"I am really here. But we have to get to going soon. The giant shouldn't be to far behind." Chiron said with a concerned look on his on his face. We just stood there not comprehending what just happened. "Well, what are you waiting for? Hop on."
"Ummm..." Eve started, "I think we're good. We have to go to school. Those exams aren't going to fail themselves. Let's go Zoë." She pulled my arm and started walking away but Chiron got in her way.
"I'm sorry ladies but this isn't optional. You're coming with me. Your mother and father approve of this. So come along now. We have a giant on our trail you know." With that, Chiron picked us up and put us on his back. We screamed in surprise but didn't try to fight back.
"Oh my. Okay. Since you already have us on your back can you at least tell us where we are going?" I asked.
"Well that's an easy one. I thought you would ask me questions like 'If your real is everything else from the Percy Jackson books real?' or ' How are you even possible?' Anyway, to answer your question, we are going to Camp-Half Blood obviously."
I couldn't believe my ears. I was going to the Camp-Half Blood with my best friend in the whole world. I couldn't help it. Me and Eve squealed simultaneously and we didn't even care. We were going through a serious fangirl moment.
When we composed ourselves I realized what Chiron had said earlier.
"Wait. You said our mother and father approved of us going to Camp-Half Blood. You knew our father?" I asked.
"Knew your father!" He exclaimed. "Your father is my boss. We are like brothers. I've known him for centuries."
"Centuries!" Eve mimicked.
"Centuries!" Chiron said with amusement. "Being the amazing girls you are, I am sure you already put two and two together. Your father is Zeus and he is the one who sent me to get you."
"Well that explains a lot." I replied.
