Eliza’s POV

As soon as I got back from work I could feel my phone vibrating in my bag, I looked at the caller ID and saw it was Prodigy.

“Prod?” I answered.

“Hey babe!”

“Why are you so excited?” I asked smiling.

“I wanted to ask if you available to meet me at a park?”

“Sure, I’ve just finished work anyway.”

“Cool come to Jergens Green, do you know where that is?”

Of course I know where that is, it’s at the end of my street. It’s a beautiful park and all but it’s in a bad area. If you walk on those park grounds you are also walking on cocaine, weed, marijuana ect. And if you’ve lived in my area long enough you could even smell it from beneath your feet. It’s best not to go to Jergens Park at night, its best not to go in day. It’s best not to go at all! Gangs always meet up there to fight, and I’m telling you it’s not pretty.

“Eliza?”

“Yeah I know where that is...” I told truthfully. “How do you know that park?”

“I’ve known it for ages!”

“Oh.”

“Well call me when your there ok?”

“Ok, bye.”

And I hung up.

There must be a way to meet him and not let him know where I live.

Once I was ready I pushed my phone in my pocket and stepped out of my door. There was a group of guys on the opposite side of my street; they were all starring me down with daunting faces. I avoided eye contact with them and turned to walk straight down the road.

“Hey baby girl!”

“Hey, sexy four eyes!”

Ignore them.

“Give me your number!”

“Where are you going?”

“You got a boyfriend?”

Ugh.

After a few minutes I was at the park gates looking around for Prod. I took out my phone to call him and he answered straight away.

“Hey Prod, um where are you?”

“Behind you.” His voice echoed around me from the close phone contact.

“Ha, you thought that would scare me!”

“No not really, but if it did...”

I rolled my eyes and acknowledged the bouquet of lavenders in his hand. “And I'm guessing those are for me.”

“No, actually they are for my Grandpa who passed away...”

“Oh Prod I'm so sorry!” I hugged him. I then heard him snickering in my neck. “What’s funny?”

“I was joking, my grandpa is well and healthy!” he laughed. So he thought that was funny huh?

“That’s wasn’t funny Prod, my grandpa passed away last year...” I said with fake tears brimming in my eyes, looking down. I saw complete regret and shame flood Prods face.

“I’m sorry, I...I didn’t know...please don’t cry.” He came close to comfort me, but I pushed him away and took the bouquet of lavenders, running off down the park.

“Hahahaha!” I laughed.

Three hours later it was getting late and I had to:

1.       Get home without Prod knowing where I live.

2.       Get home safely.

3.       Get home.

“It’s getting dark now; do you want me to drop you home?” Prod offered.

“No it’s cool; I can just catch a bus.”

“When my car is right outside...”

“I know but-“

“It’s getting dark.”

I sighed and squeezed the bridge of my nose. It’s going to be hard to persuade him, just as I expected. “The last time you dropped me off I turned out fine didn’t I?”

He sighed in defeat. “You’re not going to keep this up forever.”

I knew that, I knew that one day he was going to give up on me and find out my secret, that I'm not the amazing prosperous girl that lives in a decent house that lives in a life like Rays. He’s going to see my trashy lifestyle and most likely going to leave me for a better girl. I was now walking out of the back of the park after saying bye to Prod; I had to make my journey as anonymous as possible.

Prods POV

I waited back a few minutes waiting and watching as Eliza leaves the park. Once she was out of sight I followed the steps she’d left, she walked to the end of the road where the park stopped and stood there for a while as if she was lost, eventually she turned left walking along a shabby neighbourhood. Half an hour later we were walking around the same place, just going round in circles. What the hell is she doing? I am beyond baffled by now. She then finally turns off the neighbourhood back past the park, but this time going up a straight up a road. She seemed to tense up more on this road, or maybe it was just my eyes. I couldn’t tell anymore because it was so dark.

I then accidently kicked a rock that was aimlessly placed on the path. I quickly ducked behind the side of a house, expecting Eliza to stop and turn around. But she didn’t she picked up her pace and then began jogging, then running. I quickly started behind her until she turned into one of the houses, rushed to open her door and then slammed it shut. She didn’t even look back. What could she be so scared of?

I’m going to find out.
